He will sign with the Iggles or the WF whatever they are called now. Not even the NYG are smart enough to sign this guy

Coming off a torn peck. When healthy, he is better than Gregory, Miller, and Jones being only 27 years old.

So that means the Arlington Jonesboys will not sign him or sign him to a 2 year deal and void the last year to let him go an lead another team in sacks (see Robert Quinn).

Actually, Quinn is a good reference point for what Dallas might be willing to do. They traded a sixth for him and signed him to a one-year, $10 million deal. If his market is higher than a sixth, then I doubt the Joneses would be interested.

I would love to see player for player since we seem to want to dump Collins, but I can't remember the last time we did that. I think it was with the Raiders late in a draft a few years back.

His cap hit for the Vikings is $26 million. That's not the cap hit we'd absorb if we acquired him. That cap hit is around $20 million. His base is like $1.4 million but he carries an $18.5 roster bonus that goes live March 20, 2022. Any team acquiring him before that date absorbs that roster bonus commitment.

However, his cap hit in 2023 is much smaller so a team acquiring him could attempt to extend/restructure his deal to lower this year's cap hit of approx. $20 million.
It's really a doable deal. Id wouldnt give more than a 4th or few of our 5th's, but Hunter is a damn good player

We arent getting him without a trade.

He will do better on the open market than his current deal and we are apparently still crying over Gregory and are asleep.

Not to mention cheap and not aggressive in any case.

Is he willing to take a huge pay cut and sign over his soul? Cause the Cowboys aren’t interested in making deals that don’t make them look like geniuses.

Hunter has twice had 14.5 sacks in a season, while Gregory has a total of 16.5 sacks for his career to date. With both healthy, Hunter is definitely superior, and is also a higher character guy, rather than simply being high. Hunter's deal is also below current market value for productive pass rushers.

As others have said...offer Collins for Hunter and retain draft capital. And then perhaps they can re-work his roster bonus into a signing bonus, and spread out the cap hit.

I don't get it. We trade Cooper for a 5th and yet people are suggesting we give up a 3rd for Hunter? Isn't Hunter in the same position Cooper was? Off the Vikings a 5th. Hunter could be a free agent in a few days.

But Again, I caution, Jerry is not going to sign a player like Hunter to a big contract. He will leak something to the media that there is interest and that's the last we will hear of it. So don't hold you breath waiting for a deal to get done.

Wouldn't he just be an 18M cap hit if traded to Dallas? What am I even saying? I have a better shot at seeing sasquatch walk down my block than the Cowboys trading for this guy.
