That’s what this offense needed. Some deep speed.

When Ben Roethlisberger can’t overthrow you that says alot!

The league is almost as much about opportunity, coaching and scheme as it is talent.

Is this something we tell ourselves because we're not bringing in any talent? I understand what you are saying, but even the greatest coaches have said it's more about talent than anything else. Sure, without good coaching and schemes go to waste, but without the talent the coaching and schemes don't matter. That's why other teams are spending big money on multi-year deals. Meanwhile, the Joneses continue to follow their cheap path.

Washington may outplay his pay, but we've really only seen a few examples of that here. Sure, we can find players like Carlos Watkins, Keanu Neal, Damontae Kazee ... who can start, but getting players who actually elevate your team using the Joneses' method is rare. I'll be more surprised if the players we've signed play up to the level of the ones they are replacing than if they play down to the level of their contracts.

In addition to what Voch said I think another reason his production dropped was the steelers had to go to a short passing game due to poor pass protection.

Too bad our offensive line sucks.

No offense, but that's exactly what the Joneses want you to think. Generally cheaper in this league means worse. Sometimes it doesn't turn out that way, but there's a reason why Wilson found a job quicker and for more money. Most of these bargain bin signings do not make the team better because there was a reason they were in the bin. Few work out as well as Kearse did for us last year. At least we're not relying on Washington to start ... unless Gallup isn't ready to go at the start of the season. Then, it could be ugly.

I'm not knocking the pickup because I think it's the best we could do with the Joneses' approach to FA and we needed to pick up a third receiver with Wilson leaving. I just think expectations should be tempered.
no we have seen it

I don't need the jones family to explain t to me or jaded fan to try and twist it..i see their number ie stats not total yards but YPOC etc etc i see fowlers got twice the stats Gregory has in one less year all across the board , you trying to tell me Gregory great regardless just because he got 13mil and left??? OMG dude what blowhard i mean Jaylon got huge deal was he the better option? and circumstances and we got huge value last year from Kearse, hooker, Kazee and other all cheaper and played well..hookjer stuck Kearse may be too expansive now but lie wash and fowler are talented and just because we got deal doesn't downgrade them,..

that lie saying great players on rookie deals suck until they get paid then they are good only because of their contract size..LMAO..good try. Money is not validations sometimes they meet head on but often many players get paid and disappear. somewhere great and then in decline They are coveted for their name.

Where did you hear that?

https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/michael-gallup-gives-update-on-knee-injury

“With roughly four months until the start of training camp, it's a tighter window to return by the start of next season. Gallup said he isn't putting a timetable on it, but Week 1 is obviously the goal.

No one is saying weeks 1-4. It’s week 1 that’s the target with it being questionable he plays. I doubt he won’t play until October though that’s an extra assumption.

but of course Gallup himself is gonna set personal goals to get healthy by week 1.
Do we expect him to say or tell us any different ? He (and Jerry) are gonna be as optimistic as possible ..

I’m not debating that, I’m saying claiming that the team has said he’ll be out 4 weeks like the poster I replied to said is inaccurate. Can’t make a definitive statement either way is all I’m trying to say.

i’m loathe to give the front office any credit but other than 2018 they’ve been pretty good at getting production from the #2/3 receivers for a while now

Well would enjoy hearing your point of view on all the free agency moves or lack thereof.

Really wish we'd sign at least one big external FA. To me, I would rather us try to get big FAs and not pan out rather than stay with the status quo. At least by doing the former, it'd be perceived that the FO is trying.

Only? That’s damn near a round apart lol. Y’all will argue anything. I say I’m tired of mid round picks and you bring up Wilson who was a 6th rounder…im tired of mid round receivers….over them….

This boy literally whimpered when he typed that, luuulz.

:lmao:
