Amari Cooper is not going to make the difference between winning a championship or not. He's not that guy.

Everyone always brings up salary with Coops trade. I get it, it's relevant, BUT there's no doubt both AJ Brown and Hollywood will get paid as well. No team gives up a first and then doesn't pay the man. They want to keep those guys around to at least justify the trade. So unless you get a stud who happens to amazingly have 3+ years left under contract he will indeed get paid, JUST LIKE COOP.
Four wrs this offseason have already signed bigger contracts than Coops. AJ Brown is making more, the Cowboys screwed this up royally. I would not have cut Coop to begin with or if I traded him I would have kept my mouth shut as to not drive his value down like the Titans did.

It's Amari plus a 20M salary for a 5th. As our current cap space shows, we could have made it work if his production matched that salary. So the real question is was he worth a 1st round to begin with. He certainly changed our circumstances in the beginning, but it's less clear to me at least why that didn't really maintain over time. Did Lamb really take away that many catches? Maybe he did.
The salary doesn't have much to do with it as the Browns have restructured his contract already.

They’re both tearing down Cooper and while they were doing it they’re showing highlights of him catching touchdowns and making plays all over the field. Lol Trading him for a fifth round pick is one of the all-time dumbest moves the Joneses ever made. Cooper put a better numbers than AJ Brown last season.
Better numbers with less targets.

The price they got for him was ridiculous. But, let's give the young guys and new guys g s a chance to excel before panicking
The price for him vs the production we get from our wrs in 2022 have nothing to do with each other.

I figured we'd get a 2nd if nothing else, but a 5th? What a joke. You're right, if chatty Kathy could shut his pie hole maybe things would've turned out differently.

I get dumping the 20mil for 800 yards in production. What I don’t get is doing that and than paying Gallup.

theyre discussing this? now? why?

the cowboys could win the superbowl and they would ask "was this the worst superbowl team" "skeeuppp they aint beat nobody" "i gotta agree Shannon, i dont know if you can really count this"

If you read my post carefully again, you will note I didn't associate one with the other. Some say we can't win without Cooper. I say let's give the current and new players a chance before counting the receiving corp bad.

His production fell off but more importantly he fell out of favor with the coaches.

Poor management, they let Collins go for nothing too and he was snapped up because he had value. Those who are pretending that these guys had no value are going to see this upcoming season how wrong they were. But we continue to get pennies on the dollar for all those personnel moves.

When you watched all these other WRs get moved for greater return, even Jerry Jones apologists should have realized, crap, he screwed that up.
That’s what happens when you tell the world you can’t afford him and he will be released lol.

I didn't see anyone saying that we can't win without Cooper in this thread, I think that we can but we were better at this time last year at the wr position.

This year wr corp could out shine last year's production and the Cowboys still got screwed in the Coop trade.

Right, so then why did we trade him? We didn’t have to dump him if we wanted to keep him.
Yeah I think a team that went 12-5 and in the first 7 games looked like one of the top 3 teams in the league would add talent and leadership to a team that needed just a little bit more to compete on the highest level.
