Several team, by account, wanted to trade for him, but were unable to renegotiate his contract. At that point they knew it would be better to let him get released. No one wanted to pay the 13.5 million he would be owed this year in a trade without a renegotiation.

"There were some teams that showed interest pre-draft, and we had a couple different times there were compensation in place and the contract never worked out. Being the fact that we did have good talks with the other teams and their agents had good talks with teams, sometimes if you're going to renegotiate a contract and couldn't come to an agreement, it is what it is."

"Listen, he's a starting corner in the league," Schoen told WFAN last week. "It's just where we are financially. We still got to sign our draft picks, be able to sign our practice squad and have replacement costs for during the season."

If other teams couldn’t renegotiate his contract we’re certainly not going to sign him. I’m not worried about our cornerback position. I’m concerned about DL, OL and WR. If things go wrong in 2022 it will be primarily due to those positions unless Dak gets injured.

Releasing Brown frees up $5 million and we get a much better corner.

Cowboys should sign DT Akiem Hicks.

I'm okay signing Bradbury as alternative but rather trade Bossman Fat instead of Brown.

Or package both for a stud in middle of defense even.

I'm not sold on LVE or even Clark due to their neck injuries.

Trade for Chiefs rook Leo Chenal.

What makes you think he would cost less than Brown?
If anyone should go, it should be Lewis. If you want to save or swap cap space. If you are looking to upgrade the roster, then possibly Wright should go.

Shoot even Lewis had a career year under Quinn last year. I want to see him in back to back years with him and Al Harris.

I think our whole secondary will take a step.

https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/progress-report-jourdan-lewis-career-year

“Like Anthony Brown, Jourdan Lewis didn't reach the dizzying highs of Trevon Diggs, but there's no debating that the 2021 season was his best since getting drafted 92nd overall back in 2017.

Lewis played 16 games and made 13 starts as the Cowboys' nickel back, setting career highs for interceptions (3) and pass breakups (11). ProFootballFocus graded Lewis at a decent 62.1 in coverage, with 54 receptions on 81 targets on the year.”

Bradberry is worth the $10M the Giants owed him and probably even more. He'll find a home quickly. I wouldn't mind at all if it was here.

It's wild how broke the Giants are, unable to pay their own rookie class and they don't even have a franchise QB salary on the books. Gettleman destroyed that roster.
Definitely didn't manage the cap worth a crap.

Is Bradberry going to be cheaper than brown to sign? I confused. So release brown take what ever dead money he has on the books then sign bradberry for most likely more money for similar level of play and have more dead money down the road. Is this the same Bradberry the Cooper owns?

Bradberry is strictly a jam CB. He doesn't mirror well and lacks agility and burst. Limited player who is very much a systems player. Giants quickly found that out.

I’m not so sure about that. The Giants are moving on from him after only two seasons and they’re having trouble finding anyone that wants to trade for him. The Giants are Bradberry’s second team.

Every time Dallas has played the Giants recently wide receivers are not having trouble getting open . The game in Dallas this year the offense was in the 40’s Kellen thought he was back in Boise. No thanks on Giants corners.

Isn’t picks 2 & 3 from last years draft going to be in camp ?
