While true, they did tip their hand because they talk. That is exactly why the other GM's do not talk.

They didn't have to talk, it was 2 years ago when everyone figured they could get out after 2 years, there were questions on whether he'd be back, they never said he wasn't ever, they said they couldn't keep everybody, it was Gallup or Cooper.

I have no idea why the WHY here continues to be debated......

1. His agent allowed a contract that was easy for the team to move on from after year two. See Elliott for the opposite on this.

2. Cooper royally pissed off Jerry during year two with the vax thing.

3. He wasn't performing at a 20 plus million a year rate.

There's a litany of illigitimate children that would give anything to be honorary Joneses. Michael should feel blessed that he's in the inner circle.

Or maybe just a little queasy.

I get queasy every time I watch him talk. He's still high on cocaine, if you haven't noticed. It was really uncomfortable watching him walk in on an interview with Micah Parsons, and pretend he's his buddy, putting his hand on his shoulder—all while obviously geeked out on crack or coke.

I don't know why people even listen to him.

If he could throw himself the football then everything would have been great,,, or somebody else could have done it, that would work too...

Fact is they have really handicapped the offense with the decision they made on WR/Cooper this offseason. Period.

Gallup hurt and will miss time and they should have signed Cedric. Dak is gonna struggle.

I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised.

Some people aren't aware of all the depth we have at WR.

Surely, one or two of those guys near the bottom of the roster will step up.

I had Cooper pegged 3 years ago....he should have been cut immediately after the @ Philly game in 2019.

I tried to stay interested as I listened. But the one thing that stood out to me was at the very beginning. That Cowboys fans were mad about the offseason. Yet the Jones boys have been consistent with how they handle the off season since 2016. At least going back that far.

He’s a talented WR… and FWIW— I didn’t agree with the move to trade him.

That said— this is the second team that has traded him away and lots of whispers about “personality” “competitiveness” “attitude” etc….

So— in the end, they clearly didn’t think he was worth the time or money anymore. It happens.
I didn't mind trading him but I wish they would have done it for more than a bag of chips. lol I was never around him so I don't know if his personality was rubbing some folks the wrong way but this being the second time a team traded him for rumored attitude issues tells me it's more than likely true.

I don’t see Zeke slacking as a player at all
I think time has taken its toll but I don’t see a lack of effort

Gonna have to disagree. Zeke might work his butt off on game day, and even train hard in-season, but he's always had a work hard / play hard mentality which messes with recovery, particularly in the off-season. If you put his conditioning coming into last season when he worked with Josh Hicks up against the "Cabo" hold out off-season it's pretty to clear (to my thinking) that he hasn't always come into the season in the best condition and that more could have been done in the past.

Oh I think couple seasons ago Zeke did come in out of shape. But I think that happens with players sometimes when they get over confidence and forget what made them the player they are
Aside from getting dinged up though I think last season was as good as first season as far as effort
But the miles are getting high and no amount of conditioning can overcome those miles. That’s why I think, and hope it’s his last year here. I think when they designed his contract they felt that time would have caught up with him by next year and I think it’s time to move on from his salary. It would be different if he was getting paid like a part time back since that’s how I’d be using him. But that’s the nature of the nfl, someone will pay him more than I would pay him and I wish him the best
I hope Jerry learned you don’t use a top half of first round pick on a RB in todays game. The type of player who could justify it can’t stay healthy with the pounding they take. A guy like McCafferty gives you lots of options to get value out of him but the pounding just is too much for their bodies
I think when you are passing as much as you do today, RB by committee is the way to go

I think fans have their thoughts on what the team should do. Some aren’t really even possible
But the team has a thought process that can work if you get lucky in FA like last year, and you really draft well. The only problem with that plan is it requires almost perfection, and that’s hard to do on a consistent basis

Even if he deserves it?!?!
No. There is something called maintaining the Locker Room and the team doesn't need a one-man revolt.
Even if he deserves it.

Sucks... but it's true.
