News: There’s no doubt something happened behind the scenes with Cooper

So Jerry told Moore and Dak not to make Cooper the main target even if he is open...ok then

They also told big Mike to play an injured Zeke over pollard because of zekes contract. It would've made them look bad if pollard came in and ran better than zeke. It's also why they were fixated on zeke getting a thousand yards. In a 17 game season 1000 yards is not that impressive. The Joneses value how they're view amongst football men rather than wins and losses.

True. But there is more to it than that. Teams played zone defense but they dropped 5 or 7 in the zone. Going against 3 or 4 recievers. The reason being the OL specifically the middle with Biafasz and Williams. We couldn't run and thus in a lot of 2nd and 3rd and long situations. Not only that the defenses generated pass rush with 4 or 5 players that allowed them to drop 6 or 7.

It wasn't just one thing or one player, it was OL, Dak, Moore and the combination was bad results.
I agree totally but whose to say team won't put alot of defenders in the zone this year seeing how it was successful last season. I'm hopeful our run game can be good enough to punish teams that try that.

Zeke sells more Jerseys than Pollard. That's the main driver.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...upgrade-over-amari-cooper-as-a-no-1-receiver/

But Jones acknowledged Cooper had his issues and that Lamb has the makings of more a complete No. 1 receiver in “production, in the huddle and off the field.”

He’s a better #1 because he’s an upgrade off the field…? What does that even mean? Amari was a boy scout.

Something definitely happened last season that soured the team on Amari. Maybe it was the reported outbursts at Dak. Maybe the team asked him to take a pay cut. But CeeDee is a preferable option because he’s not making 20m$ a year, not because he’s proven to be superior on the football field. To outright say you prefer him over Amari implies there’s something more going on there.

I still think this is 100% about his sour relationship with Dak and not having the charisma Jerry expects of his highest paid players.

They probably will. In the NFL if an offense or defense does something and you don't punish them or if you show weakness and you can't recover from it, teams will exploit it ...so it's going to come down to OL and running game. Let them at zone. If we don't make them pay, then shame on us. We suck.

fwiw, he did complain some about Dak.
Which is a huge no-no in general. Not b/c it's Dak but because you just don't do that.

And related to your comment, he felt ball placement and decision-making was part of why his YAC was low.

But again, you don't say that stuff out loud.

I also think the anti-vaxx stance (right or wrong) soured Jerry some.

Btw, I was fine with us parting w/ Cooper at his slary. Wish we wouldn't traded him a few weeks later, as we would've gotten more.
He didn't complain about dak he said he wanted more opportunities. It could've been Dak but most likely Kellen.

Correct that's why I liked the Smith draft pick, the oline is the most important unit on this team. If we could upgrade Biadiaz that would be great.

Unfortunately we have to live with Biafasz one more year. Lindstrom may take over next year if he gets stronger. I like Smith but the penalties worry me.

Im a lover first, but if you piss me off long enough I can be a bit bitter at times.
I would give you a big hug and take you fishing Roy.
Must be something about good ole Roy, I offered him a hug around a year ago.

It was from a Twitter site called Ballsack Sports that has gotten famous for this. They make fake quotes that seem real and since they have a big following those quotes get re-tweeted and people don’t read the source so they end up believing it.

True story there have been multiple almost beefs in the NBA from this page. Before people realized that it was a satirical page multiple instances happened where players thought another player said something slanderous due to that page.

It was funny at first but now it’s just plain sad because it exposes how little we actually explore our sources. That quote was 100% unequivocally false.

I'm having trouble finding where this was debunked.
If it was 100% unequivocally false, you'd think it'd at least make
the back page somewhere.

It doesn't take much imagination to picture Cooper being asked privately about
the quote and saying something like "no, I didn't say it, but it's an accurate comparison".

Cooper Krupp’s YAC was 647. That’s how bad Amari was

Without taking into account the different routes being run, this is an odd
stat to use for bashing Amari Cooper. Not to mention Stafford hitting his targets
in stride.

Without researching, I'll go ahead and guess that Kupp's vertical routes are
probably half of what Cooper ran.

That wasn't Cooper's style never has been. It took alot for him to say that he'd like to be more involved.

Has anyone seen the footage because I feel like this quote is out of context. In this article we get bits and pieces of his quote.

Do you know the guy?
Many things are said privately that aren't said publicly.
Also, many comments are leaked and then denied.
Usually with words like "patently" and "unequivocally" attached to the denial.

I don't understand all the worry about Cooper. Is he a good WR yes. Do we still have a very talented WR group, yes. If we can't win with this WR group, look at the QB. Two Years ago, it was Coop #1, Gallup #2, Rookie CD #3, Wilson #4, Brown #5. This year, it will be CD#1, Gallup #2, Rookie JT#3, Washington #4, Brown #5. Really not a lot of difference there guys. Amari will be least missed FA that left more than likely. RG, CW, LC are all bigger losses and they weren't big losses either.

because he’s the best of the bunch and gallup has a torn ACL lol it’s not rocket science

Agree with all but I think it’s even more
He’s on his 3rd team because of him
Not his talent and although you are right with your list I think it’s more about him as a team mate and his attitude because these issues weren’t there with raiders so it’s deeper

the Raiders traded Khalil Mack at the same time. Gruden wanted to cash in on valuable assets and start from scratch
