Romo made Romo. Remember when Romo jumped the pile in a preseason game. Parcells didn't like that. Romo changed the plays so much on Garrett and company that they just started inviting him to the coaches meetings. Romo was his own person. He was going to do what he thought best. So, Romo made Romo.

According to Brice Butler, Romo was making the offensive weekly game plan.

I've always wondered if he was doing that for the 2016 season.

Parcells stayed with Romo when a lot of people thought he should be cut. Parcells receives a lot of grief from Cowboys fans but he found us a QB and two Hall of Fame players Witten and Ware. He left us with a roster we could compete with.

Parcells gets a lot of grief from Cowboys Fans?

I don't think so. By the end it was clear that the game had passed him by on defense, but I think everyone gives him credit for building a contender. The Team That Parcells Built, wasted by Jerry.

The game passed him by but he left us with a solid roster. A lot of Cowboys fans act like he did nothing. Some give him no credit at all I’ve seen the posts. He took a team that went 5-11 three straight years to 10-6 and a playoff spot with Quincy Carter at QB.

Thats still trying. Im sure he is happy with who he got.

But I do wonder what Romo's career would have been like had he played for Payton in New Orleans. He might be in the HOF.
Definitely. If we got Brees and Payton got Romo. Payton and Romo would have won the super bowl, maybe a couple, and people would be talking on this board how Romo was a great QB and Brees is a choker.

Bottom line is only Aikman overcame the Cowboys celebrity culture and dysfunctional organization to win a super bowl. And Aikman needed HOFers to help him. Romo had no help.

Romo had Garrett, a guy who "wasn't much on x's and o's". how's that garrett working out. Are teams still lining up to grab the great clapper?
So that’s your issue? That Romo wasn’t treated fairly when he lost his job? He was just too brittle at that point.

I diehardedly defended Romo. I feel he’s one of the most underrated players ever and one of the most under appreciated by the Cowboys fan base. But it past time to let that go.

You’re doing the same thing to Dak that many did to Romo. Ah-ha. I get it now this is some sort of payback
In your mind? Or maybe your subconscious?

You sound almost exactly like the Romo haters and have the same “facts” to back your argument.

why do put so much clout into my posts? I basically say the same thing in every thread the exact words that Jimmy Johnson did and I am posting the same exact negativities that it said on his scouting report from day one which is still true.
Dak isn't carrying anybody. He panics because of being slow reading the defense when pressured. another fact from his scouting report.
Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks the awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make a throw
Concern over pressure too often trumps the ability to get through progressions
Must speed up the pace of his reads
Footwork is a mess
Slight stride onto the stiff upper leg with little weight shift
Restricted follow through and too often tries to muscle throws with upper body
Throws to target rather than leading or throwing them open on short/intermediate throws
Too respectful of underneath coverage and must be more willing to challenge the defense
Needs to improve anticipation

Can’t argue that.

Bills biggest mistake was not drafting a franchise QB going with his old washed up veterans.

Yep, the moment he decided that Quincy Carter was good enough to be his QB for his tenure, that was it for me. It was all over. All he wanted was a bus driver. It was his downfall as a coach. If it wasnt for LT he wouldnt have won diddly. Thats my opinion.

I agree with everything.

Aikman had more help than anyone. He doesnt make the SB after the 90s with any of these teams and coaches.

All you need to do is mention the name "Romo" in a thread and it's on.
