well they could tell him he will sit on bench, and try and get him to go along with a trade, which he would have to approve.
but jones boys wont do that.
Doesnt solve the CAP situation. What is so hard about this for some?

Something like 40 million or more in dead money against the cap lol. Yeah lets send him packing.

Also right before Lamb and Diggs are due extensions. Amazing GM skills.

Personally, I think yes. He's been here long enough now and needs to bring us a ring. I'll give him one more season but if we fail again him and Mccarthy can be sent packing!!
Dak has already made it. He is getting 160 million guaranteed. If the Cowboys don’t win this season they will just fire the head coach. Business as usual.

I am hoping this is the time where Stephen brings in a coach and gives him power over everything.

I know I know. Wishful thinking.

Cap Boy Stephen might be the real problem with this team. He seems to hide behind Daddy when his decisions come under fire.

It is a make or break year regardless of contract situation. This organization or any other who has any hopes of him being more than just a guy has to see it this year. If he doesn't show marked improvement, all hope is gone and its just a waiting game til he can be offloaded and the next cycle begins.

No, the Joneses are not going QB shopping and that should make you happy. They suck without luck.

Only took Peyton Manning 9 years to win a super bowl so I guess Dak gets less?

Great thread...

Yeah great comparison. Manning was pretty much always in the top 3 in QB rating every year and considered perhaps one of the greatest QBs of all time. Dak should get the same treatment cause he had a good rookie year as a dual threat QB.

Shall we compare him to Elway and Marino next? It took Elway even longer and Marino never did get the job done.

I am not sure what this means, make it or break it. He is not going anywhere until at least 2025. I do think this is a prove it year for Dak - can he play a full season at a high level or will he taper off in the 2nd half as he has done the last 2 full seasons he has played? If Dak starts out like a house on fire the first 7 or 8 games of 2022, then plays inconsistently the last 9 or 10 then I think Dak becomes that kind of player forever. If he starts hot and finishes hot then he sheds that reputation.

It took Ray Bourque 22 years to finally win. Surely Dak can get it done before then.

Can you provide proof that he can't read defenses? To say that, I guess you pay for the all 22 film. So upload your proof. Because I want to know how a guy can throw for over 4,000 yards, but still can't read defenses.

So take us through a couple of plays and show us where he's missing his reads.
No
Because you don’t throw over 4000 yards and have over a 3-1 td to int ratio if you can’t read the defense

[My biggest complaint with Dakota is that he doesn't step up enough against teams with records over .500.

In that regard, Romo has a much better track record.

IMO beating teams over .500 is a team issue, not a QB issue. When you're dealing with teams that don't have elite QBs, it's usually overall team talent that wins the day.

Teams over 500 is a joke of a comment anyways. Dak is somewhere around 40 percent winning percentage against winning teams.

I think that is currently top 10 or 5 in the league amongst active players.

The only players I believe (could be wrong) with above 50 percent winning percentages against teams over 500 are Rodgers and Brady.

Unless he is the reason we suck this year I see him being a Cowboy for life. If he plays poorly I think he is on another team when contract is up.
