Admittedly I was very skeptical how a player who practiced LG all camp could just be plugged into LT. Jones' boys dodged a bullet and turned out the kid can ball.

Imagine if he allowed 5-6 sacks like that one 2017 game - Falcon's Adrian Clayborn :laugh:

Pro bowler in the making no doubt about it. Lets just be thankful we dont have to rely on Tyron Smith an longer. Save 13 million next year.

Oh he was outstanding. He made a couple of mistakes but , man did he look good. Particularly considering he hadn’t practiced at LT since rookie minicamp.

Had Dallas played well, he would be the talk of the town. Dallas found one in him. Unfortunately, the rest of the offense stunk so nobody hardly noticed.

I rewatched the whole game (I deserve a Purple Heart) focusing on him and he was outstanding.

It was a little more than 2 for both Tyler Smith and Matt Farniok. For their first start, they did ok. A few miscommunication plays and a few others where they got beat, but overall, they did better than expected. Just need to stay focused, study film and keep getting better.

Center Tyler Biadasz did very well. Got to give him kudos.

The right side needs work on their pass protection.

The Oline excelled in run blocking for a majority of time though.

Need to clean up the mistakes, penalties and keep improving.

Yeah, Peters can play guard. Either with Peters at LG or LT… that whole left side is going to have some power. I. Ready to get him in. It will probably be game 3 though, but I could see him going in week 2.

If the o-line can be solid, the season may not be over quite yet.

Might as well wait until Game #3. Probably going to lose to Bengals anyway.

If we can get the left side power going then the run game could get going.

agreed. obviously Tyler is our left tackle of the future but optimally you play Peters at LT and Tyler at guard this season.

I'm a huge Tyler Smith fan and was one very first to bang the drum on him as a first rounder before draft.

But Tyler can be more successful if he plays LG this season, just like Tyron, Flo Adams and LA played RT in their first seasons.

He handled the physical part just fine right now to be average to good NFL LT, but he needs to get the mental and technique down first to become a great one.

I say leave the kid at LT. He is a physical monster, wants to be great, works hard at it and showed noticeable improvement game to game in the preseason. My big fear is, well, Philbin.

I was confident in saying he had All Pro potential at LG. I could see that type of ability, without a doubt.

I am fine with saying Pro Bowl ceiling at LT, I think he looks great out there.

He was going against an elite edge player as well.
