defense gives me confidence we can beat anybody.
offense doesn't have to roll up 400yds or 50+pts.
i'd like to see this blueprint on offense moving forward.
don't lose the game...protect the ball...grind the clock...score in the red zone...let the defense win it.
It's called the formula, and after that loss to the 49ers it was evident this had to be the Offensive approach because the QB isn't built to carry the team. 2016 offense is the way to use him best.

Bad O-line
Bad running game
Good Rush/Receivers
Great Defense
Good ST.

ST allowed blocked PAT. Anger shanked punt from his own endzone. And negative punt return by Turpin.

Maher was only "hero" imo.

You feed the hot hand.

Not the cold one.

Have TP actually earn his touches and stop crying victim.

'Hey there is no defending Pollard he was terrible today. But at least he has an excuse. He only got 8 carries. Zeke is the lead back getting 19 carries getting paid 19 million and he stuck up the place. LOL

Take your L on Pollard today.

Cowboys win should make you less bitter.

But nope.

I'm loving every second of this. I hope it lasts. 3 wins in a row with a backup nobody had anything but dispatching comments about. Makes them all look like fools.

Like we needed yet another reason to think that. Look how low key Jerry has been through this whole thing.

Dirtbag.

Winning is great, but once again the 19 million dollar blocking back stunk up the place. Got his 19 carries and looked as bad as ever.

He sucks basically. No question about that.

-20 points is the benchmark, with a strong defense and good special teams they will win many games if the offense reaches this number.

Offense

-Cowboys couldn't run the football what so ever but they stayed with it and got a few big plays off play action. OL really struggled, but to be fair, Washington's interior is very talented and good. OL did well in the penalty department.

-Rush got away with two bad interceptions due to penalties by Washington's Defense. I thought this was his worst game out of the three, but a lot has to due how well they played defense against us.

-Gallup was a huge factor in today's victory. Big 3rd down conversion, TD before half and drew a long penalty. Lamb had another strong outing, most important no dropped passes.

-Shultz is hurting this team more then helping it, thought our TE play was much better last week.

Defense

-Defense had a lot of struggles stopping the run again, especially in the 1st half. Washington used the same runs that TB had success with on the outside. This is an area of concern.

-Pass rush was very solid, but I expect more from this group. Parsons still doesn't look the same since the Cincy game. He is still affecting throws, but not flashing as much. Fowler another strong game.

-Diggs had a very strong game defending a legitimate top WR. The 2 fourth quarter pass breakups ended the game. We have two legitimate playmakers on this unit, don't forget about Diggs. By the way, Lewis might not see his job when he returns, thought Bland played real well, which including a game sealing interception.

Special Teams

-Maher was very consistent once again and he probably saved 2 points with his tackle in that blocked extra point.
-They almost blocked another FG.
-Anger had that poor punt when field position was paramount.

Good grind out win, but now the schedule gets harder the next 2 weeks on the road against top competition, who knows if Dak returns in that span and how he performs after the layoff.

Really, 28 points is the historical benchmark in the NFL for winning most games. I did the analysis in a post a Coyote of years ago. Yes, we might win ~65% of the games scoring 20 if the defense continues to play well, but we aren’t consistently beating better teams only scoring 20. Still, love the win and feel much better than I felt the moment I found out Dak was injured.

maybe i'm wrong but we've seen it with the offense carryin' the load.
but the way this defense is playing...i don't think we need to turn it into a track meet.
we need to do a better job in scoring tds in the red zone for sure.
but this is as close as we've been to being a balanced team.
and i think we can win some important games with this defense.

They certainly can.

But need a wee bit better offense for the top teams.

Cowboys did not play well on offense vs a zero win team.

What zero win team did we play today?

Not saying Washington isn't the worst team we faced so far this year, but they aren't a zero win team.

McCarthy, KM and Philbin always trying to drive me into insanity.

The rotation at LG. Idiotic.

Playing Schultz at starting TE when Cowboys are a run first team and on run plays. Ignorant.

Throwing on 3rd and short when run game was humming. Incompetent.

Allowing a bottom feeding team like WAS to keep game close. Insipid.

Preach it brother!!

The difficulty stopping the run was due to DTs screaming upfield looking for sacks. It got corrected in the second half

Yes Zeke was bad, no disagreement there. And yet Pollard touched the ball 8 times for 9 yards. I believe Pollard had the longest carry of the day though. Too bad it was for negative 7 yards.

Let's not act like either one played well today.

sure they do.
specially in the red zone.
but what if this defense is THAT defense.
the one that holds scoring down and makes life miserable for people back there.

In fairness, Pollard nor Zeke had a chance today. Washington's game plan was to make the backup QB beat them and he did. They suck..

Entire running game sucked from OL to TE to playcalling to RB.

But give me the RB who produces 3× more than the other one.

Again, less than 1 yard a carry.

You can "what if" it to ridiculous depths as you are wont to do but the facts are the facts.

Correction.

1 win team.

May as well be zero win team, they are that bad.

Philly embarrassed them last week but they were more competitive vs Cowboys through 3 quarters.
