You're not packing heat every day? What kind of gangster are you, Paint?

:laugh2:

On a serious note.

The father in law got a Tommy Gun for christmas. We had it down at our house to hide it before he got to open it.

Came with the standard clip and the big round one.

Thing looks awesome.

Been wanting to head to the range to fire my 9mm. A mauser he has and can't wait to go to the range and fire that tommy gun.:laugh1:

I was surprised when I found out I did not need a CHL to carry around my old trusty Red Rider. Thus far I only put out 1 eye. :laugh2:

There is nothing to be scared of from a gun if you get proper training on the handling and care of your gun.

I would never suggest a woman use a heavy revolver to learn on, especially if they have never shot a handgun before.

If you ever want something for home defense, I would suggest the

S&W Model 60 Lady Smith

You can use either the .357 load or a .38 load in it and its perfect for women to have on them or near them at home. You should buy one and take it to the range w/ your friend and have him assist you in learning the gun.

Everyone should have at least 4-5 guns. Some for home defense and some for CC once you get a permit.

Compact and lightweight and a nice 5 shot revolver.

Agree here. DON"T start off shooting a .357. You think you're scared now......agree on the Lady Smitty but I'd suggest hammerless if you eventually carry and use your purse to carry. The hammer can get caught up in something inside your purse. JMO, of course.

Also......shoot what you own often. Know your weapon. Get comfortable with it. Sounds Militia-ish I know but I'm amazed at folks who buy for home protection and have shot the weapon once since they bought it..

I have thought about getting a CHL but decided I really don't have the need for one right now. Might change in the future though.

For now I just have the 9MM in the house and might take it to the range. I just don't see the need to carry it around with me everywhere in my area at this time.

Kinda in the same boat. I'm more or less waiting until a concealed carry permit obtained in one state can be used across the nation. It's getting closer and closer every year. I believe there are some states thet are already honoring CCW's from other states.

My wife and I both carry. She carries her's everywhere and I carry mine when I travel and when I go to downtown Nashville.

My oldest daughter wants to get here's soon. Both my kids know how to shoot both hand guns and rifles/shotguns.

Be careful when you come to New York.

What advice should we give that guy who started the "long-distance relationship" thread? Surely we have some wisdom to impart by this point.

I like the rush you get from target practice and I used to hunt. But I gave it all up for my own ethical reasons. I'd go shoot a Tommy Gun for fun though. LOL

I don't have one at this point, or a gun at all, but one day I plan on getting both.

I'm just not in any kind of hurry about it.

It's better to have an online gun. That's just as much fun.

I got my CWP, in Florida, as soon as I turned 21.

Never carry though, especially now, since I'm living on campus.

Don't really go into areas where I would think, "man I wish I was packing now" but I figured it couldn't hurt to get the permit. When I'm off campus, summer break, spring break etc, I keep a handgun in my truck.

Living in Vermont we don't need no stinking permits to carry.

I keep my Glock-17 in the truck and sometimes carry either a Kimber 1911 or a little Keltec P3AT.

Wonderful. Thank you for the warning.
