The Giants OL is still pretty bad

Flowers is bad. He definitely doesn't look like a player that was taken 9th overall in 2015. But the entire line is like that. Their running game is horrible. I love these stats, Perkins had his longest run of 16 yards. He finished the game with 6 carries for 10 yards. Just putrid.

The Giants one struggled with stunts from the d line.

They have struggled with it for three years now.

Hopefully someone looks at the tape and we actually do it.

We should have learned on how the Eagles play the Giants. They used stunts and blitzes from their linebackers a lot. It will be a shame if we play a base defense against the Giants. Especially when you have Jaylon Smith who I think can be a blitzing monster from the linebacker position.

Missed the game last night, so I am finally getting into it right now.

The first sack on Manning was a great stunt from LB Joe Schobert.

I also think it was planned given the way that Gregg Williams did a weird little gyration after the play.

And if I were interested in making an excuse I can just say that the Browns broke the unwritten rule of thou shalt not game plan in preseason.

One thing I have noticed is Manning's stance when taking the shotgun snaps.

Seems wider than it has been in the past. Like he is almost going to a one step slide back and a quick throw.

If we can get some good Secondary play and make Eli hold on to the ball for 1/2 a sec longer maybe we can get more hits on him.

The Giants do a very good job of play design where Manning can pick out where the pressure is coming from and by design he is supposed to get the ball out quickly.

The whole point is to exploit coverage flaws that are evident at the snap.

I don't think we are really capable of countering that.

Imo their oline is equal to our Dline.... lots of picks invested.... little return.
It seems like it might be close. Pugh is probably an above average to good player. Richburg is probably in the same range. Flowers is trash. Jerry is probably around average. Bobby Hart is pretty bad too.

For our DLine. Collins is looking good to me. Paea is a solid player, probably around average. DeMarcus Lawrence I'm not quite sure what to think of. I think he's got good talent, but hasn't stayed healthy that much. Tyrone Crawford is a solid player.

Basically they have a guy or two who probably grades better then what we have on average, but we don't have any massive weaknesses. They have 2 and they're on islands.

Flowers will look like Erik Williams against our Dline!

Our defense holds the giants offense

Their defense stops our offense

None of that makes any sense. Our defense is trash and our offense is too potent. Those games are strange as hell.

And they always come down to the final possession. Every time I watch the Giants play a team not named the Cowboys, I do double takes because they are not the same team we play.

Their OL will be their downfall and how they did nothing to address it since last year boggles my mind.

Preseason games. Mean. Nothing.

Yeah they do. If a starter cannot block well in the preseason there is no magic wand that is going to make him start blocking well.

Sure with QBs and DBs it needs to be taken with a grain of salt. DCs are not mixing their coverages.

The way I look at it if someone looks great in preseason then it may or may not translate to the regular season. OTOH, if they play poorly, it often does. That goes double for blockers. If you are struggling to block backups on Saturdays, you aren't going to do well on Sundays.

They reached for Flowers and Pugh and are paying for it. They just have not had opportunity to fill holes on the OL through the draft. I have been hoping they would continue to reach but they have not.

So far this preseason out DE have been getting consistent push upfield and have set the edge. Paea and Collins are playing well. Once we get Irving and Moore back I think people are going to be surprised by how we play up front on defense.

I like your story. Tell me more.

Whats funny about the Giants is that they are a team built especially for beating us.
Their FA DL counters our strength on the run game. No other DL in the league compares with the edge capabilities along with Harrison. Best hope we have is their step down at DT and they still have a suspect LB corps.
