Hey man? did you notice just about 3 /4's of the way into the season, about the time when the scuttlebutt was JERRY was down in the halftime command bunker ( those couple of games #46 came out running in the first possession of the 3rd qt. ,,sporting a 20' battering ram between his legs?) ,,,well, as much as I myself, appreciate having Rod Marinelli onboard,,, it kinda seemed to me anyway, that it took the great wizard himself to descend from the towers heights to build a " FIRE" under certain *$$*$ on the issue of defensive adjustments & that was about the timeframe of the season when the defense seriously started to make noticeable shut down progress?
Now, I know the factualists on the forum will point out Chideo entered the fielded ranks& we probably got #50 back up in the turret around then also,,, but, I'm thinking there were forced scheme changes made just a hair prior to those two reinforcements plugged back in,,,,the point is,,, just why in the Hell is ol' JJ even having to build a fire under the *$$*$ of command decision callers to begin with?,,,ya know?,,, I'm not slow on figuring things out,,,but,,, if it genuinely takes JJ's halftime "pep" talks ( or threats, of which, that I'm CERTAIN were made.) to initiate permanent postive adjustments is just wholly & totally ridiculous to even begin with.
If we don't 'refurbish' the the bilge pumps of the battleship this off season ,we'll flounder around & be waterlogging .500 battle ball club again in 2018 regardless of whoever we get to suit up.
( ,,,er,,,other than getting that #9 guy back under center,,,SHEESE WEEZIE ,,, as it's a pure certainty he'd probably be zinging to #88 T.D sixty yarders on every other throw,,,but ALSO prolly the cure for cancer, world peace & thwarting global warming in like, one out of every 10 or maybe 12 of those deep PASSES THAT HE COULD MAKE!,,,,o_O)
I noticed it

I won't be a fan of the Moore hiring, if true.

Too big a risk to take when you have so much invested and hanging on Prescott developing.
Its a roll of the dice, grant u that. But Wade Wilson didnt develop him either...so its very little risk. Have some faith in Moore until he proves otherwise. HOPE WE GET RICHARD.

I think it's a ton of risk because you have no idea if he's any good or not.

Let's put it this way. You are building a house. Your first contractor did the bare minimum and the progress with slow so you essentially fired him. You interview two new contractors to build the house. One is a young guy who has never built a house before but at least worked for a home builder and the other has built 100 homes with a good reputation.

Who you choosing to finish the house? Its possible the young, first time home builder might actually do a good job but are you will to risk that?

like your logic. But the good part is this house in Dallas starts with the oline and Zeke. Dak has big upside, but is more a system guy...but CAN be elite with the right parts around him. He will never be John Elway...but can be solid with a good supporting cast. I'm willing to see if Moore makes him better. If anything for a season...I'm with you..keep Moore on a short leash...a 1 year..year to year prove it deal. HECK...I would even say a game to game prove it deal. After all,it is a what have you done lately league.Moore has his shot, now he better make it work.

So basically the optimism for Kellen Moore being an improvement is that he just has to be?

Man, this fanbase will buy anything. 22 years and counting.
Can you name 1 thing Wade Wilson did? Neither can I. Just by Osmosis Moore has to be better lol. Seriously, give the young coach a shot.Coaches gotta start somewhere.

There's nothing trending right now to substantiate that he's been hired.
No,thats true...But Stephen Jones has said its in the works and should be finalized soon. But like you said, its not done til its done. Things can change.

Fixed it for you. He’s done after this year. I’d bet anybody on that.

I said that after 2013. The "he's done" thing. The O-line was pretty much re-done. Romo had one of the best years of his career, improving big time on his TD/interception ratio and we still went 8-8. Then we did what? Took the OC responsibilities away from Garrett, handed game calling to Linehan as defacto OC. So it was, ok 12-4 in 2014 and a play off win. I still wanted to can his arse in 2014 but NO!!! New five year contract!! Don't get me wrong, I never liked Garretts game management as OC. His clock management and last game decisions cost a a few games. I like him somewhat more as a "walk around coach". He causes less damage that way. Do I think we'll win a SB with JG as HC, there certainly isn't anything that would lead me to think that way. Are we stuck with him through 2018, yes and there is everything to make me think that way

Nothing that I've seen to verify Moore is the QB coach. It's an unsubstantiated radio thing reported as "I heard it on the radio". remember the Queen song... "all i hear is radio goo goo, radio ga ga"

Guys..if we sign Kris Richard as the passing coord..and assist. def,coach..that goes along way to making the entire team better...even IF we sign an unproven Moore as the QB coach. Would LOVE to and Ray Horton as the db coach as well. Great coaches can mask shortcomings in other coaching areas...ie Kellen Moore.

Doug Pederson was an also ran journeyman back up QB for many years in the NFL...no coaching experience..NONE. Yet he became a QB coach amongst other titles...when he started he had zero fan fare...no credentials except he was a former player. THATS IT. Same as Kellen Moore!! So the moral of the story is you must start somewhere. Now Pederson is a HC in a SB. So you just don't know if anyone can coach until they get a chance. Lets wait and see. I expect the Moore signing may be official either tonight or Tues.
