LOL........ How long you been paying attention to how Goodell operates? I'm gonna file this one, right along with the, "Zeke will never serve more then a 2 game suspension", the "Jerry will sue the NFL and win" and the "The Owners are going to fire Goodell over this stuff".

It doesn't matter if you think people should be good with it or not. What will matter is that there is a very healthy percentage of people that will not be good with it, regardless of what you may think is acceptable. This is a business issue for the NFL.

I just wonder how many examples of this kind of stuff does it take for people to realize what the real issue is here. This is money, plain and simple.

Only stupid thing Irving did here was feel the need to post it on social media.

Other than that, all the guys complaining about it are really just using the morality argument to mask their jealousy

Irving, no doubt is very quirky and lives in some strange place in his own mind, but there's nothing wrong with engaging in consensual relations with a woman; or in this case, multiple women :thumbup:

Those of that healthy percentage that aren't good with that are also mostly hypocrites too. Most healthy males whether secretly or openly wish their wives would do that for them. If they want to play the part of disgust, so be it but deep down they wish it would happen to them. Tell me a even a very happily married man that hasn't fantasied about their wife doing just that at some point or even often. The line for hypocrite prudes start here.

The NFL can't cave into EVERY politically-correct complaint or concern.

Message to anybody offended by an Instagram post of two faceless, fully-clothed women sharing a bed with a descriptive message implying that the creator of that post may have had consensual sex with said women: turn your eyes and don't pay attention.

If we worry about everybody's over-delicate sensitivities, pretty soon it's going to be illegal to even make eye contact with a female.

I agree, the only thing he really did wrong was posting it. However, the rest of this statement is a empty. How you gonna tell a fan base, who just watched what the league did to Zeke, that just watched the season spiral down the drain, that they are making jealousy? How bout, "I'm sick and tired of this team shooting themselves in the head", before the first snap of the season? Don't you think that, that is a reasonable position for a fan to take?

The team cares! It's an embarrassment to his employer. They have the right to expect certain behavior (and sense) from their employees. And that's exactly why David Irving will never see the salary and contract he would have if he had a brain in his head.

He's "free" to do whatever he wants and make whatever poor decisions he wants too. And they're "free" not to keep him or pay him. "Freedom" works both ways.

That's your opinion and that's fine, you are entitled to that but in the large scope, it doesn't make one hill of beans what you think. What matters is dollars and cents and anything that puts a bad face on the Shield is viewed in exactly those terms. I mean, I am honestly surprised that we have to, once again, explain this and discuss it. I would have thought that every single fan would understand this, after last season.
