To be fair though didn’t Dak just overthrow that same pass to Gallop and the week before too.
Yes, Dak did, and he needs to quit that crap! It's like he gets so pumped up that he overpowers his throws and doesn't get enough air under them. Bullet line drive deep throws. Not good. He needs to keep himself calm and under control when throwing deep and start getting some loft on those deep balls. Just enough to allow our receivers to have a chance to run up to any deep slight overthrows.

It's fixable. Needs to throw lots of those under pressure in practice, over and over again.

On the Babe/Brad's post game interview, they asked Cooper about the winning TD play. Coop said he was "worried" about the slant route that was called because the EaGirls' been sitting on that route all day and thought the EaGirls knew what routes we were running on plays. He said sure enough the DB knew it and try to jump the route even when Coop tried to fake a fade first.

This is all we need to know about why our offense struggles. Especially in the red zone when the DB has an advantage due to short field.

Cooop just threw Lineham under the preverbial bus, All Aboard!!!!

No he didn't, all we have routes they specialize in and they show up on film. Every team knows a team scheme at this point in the season, doesn't mean you stop calling them.

I've often wondered whether Dak throws short because of his own issues, or because that's the play that's called. Coop also mentioned about those stop routes and how he and Dak beat that by switching to a go route. Again, it makes me wonder how much of that dink and dunk passing game has been by design and is incorporated into the play calling.

I'm positive it's the scheme because Romo did the same thing and people complained about it. Romo threw deeper passes once Dez became the 50/50 ball monster.

I’ve been laughing at all his interviews. I think he said our offense was pretty simple after his first practice. :muttley:
I caught that comment from him too. That told me everything i needed to know about this offense and why recievers (aside from cooper) struggle to get open in this so simple scheme.

I remember on, I think play #4, Aikman stated that would have been a perfect time to hit Amari on the go route. The corner was biting hard.
Linehan and Garrett are making life so difficult for our receivers and Dak by running so many stop routes over and over. I hope Dak starts changing routes/plays in the huddle or at the line of scrimmage. If they start working, continue overriding Linehan and Garrett. What are they going to do? Bench Dak? The whole Offense will revolt.

Dak is developing well. He'd develop faster if the Cowboys can keep Cooper so that he has a genuine #1 threat down the field he can trust with every single play, like Romo had Dez. They can then do their own thing if they don't like what Scott's calling.

I'm liking these Cowboys, they're slowly becoming a formidable team :)

Don't look now but I think we're slowly developing the new Triplets 2.0 ( Dak, Zeke and Cooper )

Just the 90s .....they took over and wasn't a damn thing the Eagles could do but accept defeat.

Sorry if this was posted. Board moves fast after a game.

Reading this makes my head hurt a bit and glad that Dak and Amari are “rebelling” a bit against the bland playcalling we are seeing.

I don’t care how the season ends...we need new coaches on the offensive side of the ball

In the interview, this was the 2nd time in 3 weeks that Amari has "complained" that DBs are sitting on his slant routes, because Dallas calls so few go routes to keep them off balanced. You would think the coaching staff would recognize this and give him more deep routes to keep DBs on their heels.

Yeah, you'd think. Trouble is, Garrett and Linehan don't think.

I have a feeling that next season Jerry is going to do the same thing with Dak that he did with Romo. Give him the reigns to change every play if he pleases.

I hope Dak would use that as leverage. Sign for a lesser contract so long he has free reigns on who he wants as OC and the plays.

Every QB changes routes on the fly based on d alignment. I’m pretty sure most of you know this and are acting like it’s some rare thing.

No, we're not talking about Dak and his abilities or lack thereof. We're talking about the offense and what is really holding it back is playcalling and the playbook. Not Dak.

So let me get this straight.

The players of every team get tired of their OC's calling the same plays all day and know the defense is jumping routes.

And after being finally fed up with it, they change routes on the fly.

Ths happens to all teams all the time? I don't buy it.

They are just running out of excuses on bashing Dak. They are just trying to spin something to make Dak look like a lesser QB than all of the other QBs out there.

If you were the OC and had to work with a QB like Dak, what kind of plays would you call to feel comfortable ? Alot of go routes ?

This guy overthrew Gallup badly on 2 go routes and sure long TDs. He underthrew a wide open Pooper badly in the endzone for an interception. He fumbles the ball routinely when dropping back. And his 75 yds TD to Cooper was underthrown. If the safety reads it better this is an easy int.

What would you call when you have to work with that QB ?

I understand that some here are mad about Linehan. But come on, be at least a bit fair here. He aint no alchemist. He cant make gold out of lead.
