I'm not sure many fans realize what most worthy even means. I don't like drafting for need
I don't like drafting best available. I like drafting most Worthy. Freddy was most Worthy. That's why we took him in the first-round when many thought he was a second . Martin was most Worthy. I don't know who will be most worthy this season. When I said take Martin all summer . people slammed me everybody wanted defense.

To me the "worthy" player is the player who will most impact the team. That's not always BPA or the guy who fills the greatest need. It's usually a combination of the two but IMHO there are situations where a player slides and though you have no need at his position not selecting him would be silly. The.rules of drafting are not static. If you draft strictly according to one stagnant set of guidelines you're screwed. Fred was on the board at a time when we had to have a C and at a point in the draft where he was the last one left before a huge drop-off. It didn't hurt that the Cowboys rated Fred a lot higher than most teams and all armchair scouts. Call it "worthy" or whatever. Travis was a great player and the Cowboys nailed it. Martin was just the best player on the board. We got a little assist from Pittsburgh in preventing a little thing like position of need from screwing everything up.
