Just rented Aquaman and recorded it. I give it a solid 5 out of 10. It was pretty much a cartoon. Talking underwater, and it sounds completely normal. Water doesn't seem to slow anything down. I realize you need to suspend your disbelief for some movies, but they might as well have started some of the scenes by looking at the camera and saying, "Here's something ridiculous for ya!" There's so much bad about it.
I like him, and his personality in the movie, but just about everything else was so bad. The technology was like Black Panther, but more over the top, and underwater.

SWISS ARMY MAN
I'd ordered it from Walmart ,it laid out in the front yard for two days before I allowed myself to retrieve it,as I'm constantly fine tuning my willpower & discipline, the shipping packaging the flick came in was kinda' cool ,made from two sheets of brown thick,stiff paper glued together and maybe even vacuum packed, the interior or inside of the paper sheets had been treated with some form of spray adhesive to aid in the securely(y'all can tell I'd rather talk about the packaging the movie came in rather than the movie itself, huh?) holding it in PLACE
*The flick had a few funny parts to it, like the constantly farting dead guy that gradually starts coming back to life& when the dead guy& the guy who finds him are in the back yard of this house and a little girl comes out to talk to them,then falls down crying when the dead guy displays to her his special magic powers( I thought that was HILARIOUS/best part of the entire movie)
As I don't particularly care for the lead actor Paul Dano( I mean he's a fairly decent actor, but he's always been type casted as a weaselnut in every flick I've seen him in)also, the flick went straight off the rails into gay,queer,homoville half way thru.

You are more forgiving in your rating, I watched it last night and gave it a 3 and then dropped it to a 1 when the dog didn't show back up. I kept expecting to see it with the lighthouse keeper to keep him company.
This movie is exactly why I am not a fan of comic book movies and especially, DC.

The dog would have been about 20 years old, wouldn't it?.....Of course, that would have been the most realistic part of the movie.

And the casting of Patrick Wilson was just goofy as hell to me. And what was going on with his hair in the back? Was he a librarian when he wasn't trying to be king? And the guy that played the son of the pirate, hope he didn't quit his day job.
My son and I always debate these comic book movies and I lost on Infinity Wars, really liked that, we tied on Black Panther but he's in the hole on Aquaman and not even putting up a fight.
I did like Mamoa in the role but couldn't get past that I was watching and hearing a young Tom Selleck. His mannerisms and speech patterns and at times his voice are very Sellecky.

I'll have to pay attention to the "Sellecky" thing. I never caught it, but it's not hard to imagine.

Just watched Us today. I give it a 6.5 out of 10. The premise was okay, but flawed. I think the Jordan Peele was so concerned with having a surprise twist at the end, he didn't really concentrate how events came about, and it left a lot of holes. BTW, the twist wasn't really a surprise.
I think if he'd just gone through the story in chronological order, rather than having the villain vaguely explain it toward the end, it would've been a much better movie.
One thing I did like about it is that it wasn't just a "startle the audience with loud noises and sudden visuals" type of movie. There was pretty good acting, and an actual build up of suspense, and you actually connected with the characters.
I think if he'd just gone through the story in chronological order, rather than having the villain vaguely explain it toward the end, it would've been a much better movie.

Hotel Mumbai - pretty intense portrayal of a real event. No idea how accurate it was, but it certainly didn't pull punches.
The guy next to me gave me some bad vibes. Reminded me of the pirate guy from Captain Phillips (I'm the Captain now). He had a bag with him that he kept reaching around in (and his pockets) he kept burping through the entire thing, and he was creepily laughing at some really dark moments, like he was getting a kick out of these people being killed.

"The Mule", 6/10, had some real flaws in it like Eastwood aging 14 years in the opening and looking and walking the same. Bradley Cooper was good in it but this movie had the feeling of everybody just doing their job. Not a re-watch.
"The Highwaymen" 7/10, Harrelson had the best lines and he and Costner formed a pretty good team, almost as good as Harrelson and McConaughey, but it was slower than I had anticipated but had a novel approach of being more about the pursuers than the pursued. I think it did a very good job of showing just how romanticized outlaws were back then, society just didn't get sick, been ill for a long time.
