This goes to show you that the player is not entirely responsible for their behavior when it comes to contract negotiations. If the agent is telling a player what to say or do than the blame should also go to the agent when the deal falls apart and the fan base/media start to pile on the player. This makes you wonder about the Antonio Browns situation...yes he talked his way out of Pittsburgh but what was the agent telling him during that time? You have to remember that the players establish relationships with the agents we’ll before they sign with a team. A certain level of trust exists between them before the team ever gets involved.

Yea Skip gave his opinion on the original report that he thought SJ went around Canter. I have not seen a report that confirms that is what happen so Skip is just speculating.
i hadnt heard either report. U got a link to the canter aspect? like to read it

The player has the right to fire that agent and get a different one.

Antonio is a moron. Dude needs to grow up.

Stephen went around Canter and called Lawrence, shortly after deal was done. Unwritten rule but this shows it was clear Lawrence agent was the one who was causing this to dragged out. Skip Bayless is the guy who is reporting this. Saw it on undisputed
Who cares- I mean really. I don't see a problem with what happened. These guys still work for the team- even in the off season!

Just read it on here. No thats not what he was talking about. I think it might have happened before. IDK if it really happened nobody does But skip and shannon both were talking about it being a 1 on 1 with Lawrence and SJ.

Sorry for some reason this came to mind reading your post :D

Man, I miss those ,they aired some pretty good ones over the radio also, but, I guess with the massive loss in market share due to the plethora of micro breweries & domestic local niche beers,in conjunction with the changing trending curve of past stalwart beer drinking age groups( changing demographics, is two words aptly suitable) as a whole, A-B couldn't afford to produce that high caliber of intellectually HILARIOUS advertisings,,,thusly, their rolling with the current low budget & low brow Dilly-Dilly ad campaign.

I doubt his agent was telling him to not show up on Wednesday’s and show up for games in time to get dressed. Antonio Brown is an idiot. Don’t blame his agent for that.

Hey ,Bro,,, what's yer' vast tracts of arable land looking like, covered in snow, under water, or have you done started drilling seed?

We had very little snow all winter so it's gone. Still cool and wet. We frost seeded some of our spring wheat last week. Perfect for that. We use a no-till seed drill for that. No tillage whatsoever. It will almost put seed into concrete. Not that seed would grow in concrete. Wheat seed is pretty tolerant. Corn seed somewhat less and soybean seed the least tolerant of cool conditions. We're good. We should have our wheat in by mid April. If not we may change up some acreage. Most of our land is clay and tile drained. Thanks for asking Melon

There is nothing illegal about it. Its just an unwritten rule that would get an agent mad.
Devil's advocate here... Then why have agents if the player and FO are going to have direct contract talks? Seems the players union would have rules against this written into the CBA to protect the players so-called, "best interest".

Really think any agent puts the players interest before their cut of the pie? Not until a situation where he wanted Lawrence to say trade me and he wouldnt did canter realize this guy doesnt want to play anywhere else. So he stopped the bull

Did you answer my question because I don't perceive that as an answer.

Ive answered ur question a few times already. There is no rule against it. Its just perceived as bad business and undermines the agent.
