Some people need to slow their roll. There is no great urgency at this time to get a contract extension completed. Training Camp is still 10 weeks away. There's plenty of time for both sides to move slowly and methodically toward a resolution. There is no cause for calling Dak "greedy" or the Cowboys "stingy." Let events play out in their own time.

Secondarily, nothing in the Dak negotiations prevents the Cowboys from reaching deals with other players. It is possible to do more than one thing at a time.

Offense wasn’t declining when he got Amari. Realistically Dak had about 16 games (second half of 2017 to first half of ‘18) where he played poorly. He does shoulder blame for that, but there were many other factors that went into those games as well.

If you look at the big picture and think Daks gonna come out in 2019 and stink it up you’re wrong
Denver was week 2 of '17...

Trade him and bring back Romo!!!!!!

The regret will start the minute he puts ink to paper. Book it. It will be the biggest mistake in Jerry's career. Sadly...fans will have to suffer through yet another Jerry Jones bufoonery @ QB.

You would think after all these years....Jerry would get it. You get what you pay for @ the QB position. The Quincy Carter debacle....Drew Henson. A hope and a prayer..w/ Bledsoe..Ryan Leaf....Hutchinson. An undrafted QB in Romo...throwing 4th round hailmary's @ Dak.

Yet in Jerry's world...he thinks by throwing money @ a guy...it's going to make him legit. Doesn't work that way.

All this contract is going to do is hamstring this franchise for years to come. You won't be able to trade him. You won't be able to cut him. Your going to have to let good players walk because you can't afford to keep everybody.

It's just insanity....of the Al Davis type. :(

It is. Folks not wanting athletes from certain backgrounds to get big deals make it that way.

Look around. Do you see other QBs insulted with incentives? You don't but somehow, y'all gonna suggest that for Dak
The idea that someone would think it is insulting to ask people making tens of millions of dollars to actually earn it and not just have it guaranteed is certainly one sign of the apocolypse.

Anyone insulted by that is a pathetic excuse for a human. They're an entitled child.

People that try to turn that into something else are even less than that...IMO.

Incentives might sound like a great idea, but they're not. An injury to Cooper or Gallup or Zeke or a top o-lineman would curtail dak's ability to accomplish the incentives. He will not agree to this nor should his agent agree to it. Not going to happen.

Not everyone is capable of multitasking. But I'm certain Stephen is.

Oh shut the hell up dude why even bring that kind of bull**** into this?
I Love Dak Prescott and hope he gets paid but pretending like they don't want to pay him cause of his skin color is total nonsense.
We come here to talk sports and our Cowboys get your **** race baiting bull**** out of here.
So tired of the racial narratives being thrown out CONSTANTLY anytime a black QB gets mentioned. Maybe it's got to do with that specific person's skillset and not their skin color? Ever thought of that or has your victimhood mentality really blinded you to anything else?
We want to win SUPERBOWLS and nobody is going to pass that up because of someone's skin color, period. This isn't the 1960s anymore nobody gives a ****.

Craps pathetic man, get over yourself already.

not so sure. I think we will sign Coop before Zeke. Zeke will be playing on his 5th year option this year. Cooper will get a deal sooner.
Zeke is not playing on his 5th-year option this year. This will be only Zeke's 4th year with the team. He has been informed that his 5th-year(2020) option will be exercised which tells us that Cooper will absolutely get his big payday before Zeke.

I like Dak. I think he's most likely going to be a great QB for Dallas. That being said, I don't think any QB is worth 30 million a year. It takes way too much of the cap. Look at teams where QB's (no matter how great) get overpaid...those teams suffer everywhere else and end up going nowhere. The market being what it is or not, if you're even thinking about paying a QB 30 million, you better be SURE he can walk on water.

Question: How well do people trust Jerry's ability to assess a QB?

I'm thinking about Chad Hutchison, Quincy Carter, Drew Henson etc.

And it's akways Jerry who's "sold on Dak". How come we dont hear Dak's coaches pushing for him to be signed? What's Kellen Moore's opinion?
