Tyron-Williams-Frederick-Martin-Collins To start the season but will look different later in the season. Tyron-McGovern-Frederick-Martin-Williams.

I don’t see them making two changes on the line other than injury. Especially moving Williams mid season

I don't see Collins keeping the RT spot. Connor Williams natural position is OT and I think once he is moved to tackle that McGovern will be pushing for a starters role. You say it is 2 position changes I tend to think of is as 1 as the only new starter to the OL would be McGovern

LG will be mcgovern. Williams will be playing swing tackle getting ready for his move to tackle next year.

LT-Smith
LG-Mcgovern
C-Frederick
RG-Martin
RT-Collins
Swing Tackle-Connor Williams

I suspect it will be Williams.

They'll cross train him at RT but for the season, he'll be the starting LG, at least initially. They used a 2nd round pick on him so there's no doubt they are going to do everything they can to get him on the field.

Say that we hypothetically use McGovern at LG, and Williams effectively becomes a swing tackle.

Are we overpaying Cam Fleming at that point?

So I’ve said this before maybe not here but at ranch I can’t remember but is anyone else besides me worried about our perennial pro bowler now often injured left tackle

Don’t get me wrong I still think he’s best option on roster but who is the best person to step in there once his back flares up again

I really consider that position a priority to address and soon even more than safety

Am I worried about nothing?
No. He was not good for the first half of the year (regardless of how certain publications graded him). He hasn't been healthy in what 3 full years. It's not just his back either.

So, as good as the rest of the line depth appears to be at this time, if he can't go its not clear who or at what level we could replace him.

Unless an injury or a Collins trade happens, the starting o-line will be:

Tyron-Williams-Fredbeard-Martin-Collins

Agree. Too many are over thinking it, or not thinking. LOL.

Su'a-Filo may give Williams some competition. But the staff already plan Williams as long term. And Su'a-filo is on the last year of his contract. Not that it should matter.

But too many want all this OL changes because of their dislike of some players IMO. But it will be those 5 given the opportunity 1st.

This year? I don't say no. Next year, his salary jumps up in a big way and I don't expect the Cowboys want to pay it regardless. That's where a UDFA steal like Mitch Hyatt comes in.

I think year two of Fleming's contract was "La'el Collins insurance" that they team would rather not have to pay.

whomever the FO and coaches decide, not what we think..its that simple those that think CW cant handle it is werng blinders...theres comp right now and thats good but dont write off that we will see the same starters back..

Tsmith, Cdub, Tfred, Martin and LC...

Now if they are in need of change anywhere we have the depth and can reevaluate after game 4..

Williams isn't a scrub, his whole issue last season was the tendency to be overpowered. But he has the frame to handle extra weight, he's put on extra weight (muscle, no less) and he should be vastly improved this season. McGovern is a potential stud, too. I doubt we see Williams bumped to tackle this season unless McGovern just shows out so well that we can't keep him off the field (which would be a great problem to have).

If Sua-Filo is playing this season, something went horribly wrong - probably multiple injuries.

And Tyron wasn't bad last season by any stretch. He had a few bad snaps here and there, which was uncharacteristic, but he was still a top end LT. I'm guessing the super-human version of Tyron is history given his degenerative back, but he's still dang good.

Collins will be out until TC, so those starter reps could very easily go to CWill. Now if the staff likes what they see a full on battle could break out when Collins returns, mind you, he should be eased into football activity further strengthening Williams chances.

McGovern vs XSF advantage McG...now vs Looney is more stiff, but the higher investment will win out.

Smith, McGovern, Fred, Martin, Williams
Hyatt XSF Looney Fleming

Some team will be struggling mightily on the OL during preseason and LC should net a 2nd or 3rd considering that team will probably sign him to an extension.

McGovern and Williams are better than Looney and all three are much better than Sua-Filo overall (not in run blocking, but overall).

McGovern is the best player of the four but Williams may still start because he has been in the system for a year already.
