they write this crap every year and how players are going to explode and how the younger guys are so fast and are really good in ots's then after training camp u never hear much from them the rest of the year and the offense pretty much looks like the stuff that garrett and linehan used so we will see when September comes until then its all just fluff stories and white noise

We could just fire Garrett and Jerry and Stephen and let Will McClay find players for Richard-Moore and just kick *** for about a decade. That would be awesome.

Obviously there is scheme, otherwise nobody would know where to line up or what play to run, and they would never score. The fact Garrett may not do it as well as someone else doesn't change the fact that, notwithstanding your comment, he has accepted changes with the offense over the years.

We need to either be a title contender that advances deep in the playoffs or just let the wheels fall off and hire a new coach and hopefully get a top 10 draft pick.

That's a problem! I was thinking that same thing last year. A deep playoff run or Garrett needs to go. I could see this team being 9-7 or 10-6 and one playoff win then a loss. Garrett gets a new 5 year contract because Jerry thinks they are getting close.

Let me clarify. Does not scheme to allow the offense to operate to its fullest potential. As I said earlier the basic theory is “beat the man in front of you”

I don't disagree that Garrett isn't the best at what he does, and that wasn't what I was suggesting. I was just responding to the idea that he has never been willing to make any changes.

And my statement remains. He has never shown the propensity to change. Yes at one time the team was a pass heavy offense. But the philosophy was the same as it was last year. That’s all I means

That makes no sense when he clearly has changed from a pass heavy offense to a run heavy offense, and the offense clearly has wrinkles now that it has not always had. You can't reasonably argue that the changes that clearly have happened don't exist simply because he hasn't changed everything you would like him to change.

Has nothing to do with what I want. The vast majority of the pass plays called in 2018 are the same pass calls from years ago. Just the number of pass plays per game has changed. A scheme is a set of strategies involving specific formations and plays. That’s what has not changed. We can disagree and the earth will still turn.
