I'm not so sure he will have the type of success he had at Boise State. In Boise, Kellen's genius was never questioned or doubted. There was no jealousy or envy to deal with. Every Boise State Bronco knew all they had to do is follow and support Kellen's lead. Even the coaches wised up very early and started checking with Kellen on play designs, game plans and daily practice routines.

But things are different in Dallas. The team, players and coaches, even the fans down in Texas, always seem to be a step slower. Now I will give the Cowboys brass credit for promoting Kellen to OC as fast as they did. There's definitely more optimism this season. But still there's a stubborn rugged mindset out there. These die-hard haters who were the same people clutching onto flip phones, VCRs and Sanka instant coffee.

What is it about local Texan Cowboys fans anyway? The Cowboys are a global franchise with a much needed dose of Boise State invasion. The Cowboys should play a couple of games a season right here in Boise, where the blue turf and the blue skies are much more fitting of a team of such stature.

Just my opinion anyway.

If our offense doesn’t look like an offense from the 90’s and play calls make sense for situations, honestly the rain will come down on Dak before Moore. This is a big year for Dak so for it also to be on the heels of a first time coordinator is a big ask for both guys. In my opinion it will either be magic or the worst year in a long time.

Let’s hope for magic.

Interesting that you look at an unproven coach like Moore as a sure thing. If we only listen to him all of our dreams will come true.

What the heck has he ever done to warrant that kind of respect? He's a complete unknown.
Maybe because he's from/played at Boise State? I think that covers any questions people might have.

Well Garrett went to Princeton and struggled to manage the clock, so brains and decision making don’t always go together.

Have to agree that Moore is a complete unknown. I think Dak will take flak, not because that is necessarily right, but because people are dying for something different and so many are questionable on him.

But I do think Moore will scheme for things Dak does well, and will be creative about it. Kitna gets Dak’s footwork to the next level it could be a beautiful thing to watch.

I was just playin with the OP's claims of being a Boise guy.

I heard he designed a play that worked, but other than that I have no clue what he'll be like...Except that I thought Dak got better as the season progressed. Might be because of a 1st time QB coach's influence

Totaaly agree with everything written. The drawl is certainly slower, not the football knowledge though. It's top drawer with some cutlery missing and crap load of "we're deserving"

Moore's main asset is following Linehan. A seriously resurgent oline is the next asset. With merely mediocre good sense, the likely production bump will make him look like a genius.

Why does it matter what the fans think? It has no affect on the offense. What appears to be the key is that he and Dak seem to be on the same page and running this thing together. Dak is already WAAAAY in it and he is the leader of this team. His buying in and his enthusiasm is all that is required. They will follow the leader.

You have not been listening and not been reading up obviously. And I don't hear anyone saying Moore is a sure thing. I think most people are just excited that Garrett is further away from the offense.

As a hater, you haven't factored in the coaching and scheme aspect of Dak's maturation. It will be huge.

I dont understand the hype about him.

Well i understand when you read DC.com pages but the independent ones ?

He last year was the QB coach and Daks development was exactly ZIP.

Kellen Moore showed nothing that makes me believe he will be a good OC. I hope so. But right now the evidence is against him.

But then.... its the offseason. go on twitter junkies - waste some HDD space ;-)

Um, he was not a coach at Boise State. So his success there is irrelevant.

Hey. Tim Tebow had success at Florida, let's talk about it.

Tim Tebow could beat down Jacky Chan, Bruce Lee and Kellen Moore in a bareknuckle fight.

Not so sure about Chuck Norris though.
