More evidence of an improved Prescott

I just wondered if you guys have seen any noticeable improvements in Dak's throwing accuracy this year at OTAs compared to the past? - JOSEPH CRUM / CORINTH, MS

Bryan: I have noticed a transformation of his body and overall mechanics. There were times when he missed, he missed badly. That hasn’t been the case in these OTAs. Ball has been on target and catchable. Credit to the hard work he’s put in on his own and with new quarterbacks coach Jon Kitna. Needs for this to carry over to camp.

Rob: It was only three open practices, but yes, that’s the best stretch of OTAs I’ve seen from Prescott in four years. He’s been accurate at all levels: short, intermediate and deep, like the dime he threw to Reggie Davis last week on a go-route for a touchdown.

Progress in practice means nothing. NOTHING!
Practice?
Cue Allen Iverson.

Yet MJ and Kobe believed in approaching each practice as if it were a game, and both have multiple chips to show for it.

I'm not rebutting you but just wanted to sht on Allen Iverson for that revealing remark into his inferior, competitive mindset.

Yuge, if true.

An accurate Dak is a Pro Bowl Dak, no question. Accurate, durable, and one of the best running QBs, good for 6 TDs a year, and a lot more in the run game as a complement to Zeke.

He doesn't have to be the best passer, dropping it on a dime. Just hit the open ones reliably.

From the sounds of it, he’s getting closer, and with a better line, WR group and defense....

I'm a wait-and-see type. I was down on Dak the first part of last season. However, he picked it up after we acquired Cooper. Since I don't think that is a coincidence, I expect him to be better from the start. At the same time, I have one great season, one so-so season and one half and half to go on so far, so I want to see what he truly is.

2 edged sword. the guy that was suppose to coach him up is now the OC. Hopefully this isn't just BB fluff but is good news if true.
Could also be why they made him the OC so quickly.

An accurate Dak is a SUPER BOWL Dak.
This team could be unstoppable if Dak fine tunes his accuracy, ESPECIALLY with his legs as a weapon too.

Not a dak guy myself but you bet this is great news. Best case scenario Dak improves and is better than most thought. If we have a better offense we can be serious sb contenders.

I knew he'd work on mechanics and fix any accuracy issues he might have due to it. Let's hope his defense reading has improved too and see how he is about holding the ball too long! I'm excited to see what is coming. I'm still not sure about paying him quite yet, but I'm thinking he's a Cowboy for life. Make him play out the year and then sign him.

So he improved his mechanics and thus his accuracy: CHECK (and expected)
Reading defenses: We shall see. I expected improvement due to an offense that adapts and Kitna's influence and Dak getting it going into year 4.
Holding on to the ball too long: (related to reading defenses) We shall see, but I'm thinking we will see a marked improvement because of Moore and Kitna.
Dak getting happy feet and sensing phantom pressure: Nah. Once he realized he could trust his line again, that disappeared.
Throwing it too short and making the receiver come back too often: I think that was just as much on Linehan's playcalling for comeback routes. Comeback routes hamper forward momentum when used too often.

With the receiver corps we have now and Dak's upgrades as well as the possibility of a more dynamic offense, this is starting to look like it's going to be a fun offense to watch. We knew the defense was going to be fun to watch and the idea of both sides of the ball being fun? Awesome.

So you'd rather let him walk and draft the next Connor Cook then?

Stick to the schtick.
Not to let him walk, ya deck gent. But a contract that won't hinder us for 5 more years. Or ye want a 4-year tutorial worth $140 million?
Let's be rational, comrad of the ramparts!

Not exactly what I'm thinking about with your statement, but contract year is real.
It's the thought that he hasn't been working hard to look good before. He's known as a very hard worker. Nothing has been said otherwise anywhere.
Ok I see, I am not saying he hasnt worked hard in the past.
When people achieve success and make some money, they tend to let up, it is human nature.
Then if the situation changes, they can and do raise the bar and try harder to deal with that situation.
I dont know how hard Dak has worked in the past, or now, I dont follow him around every day lol.
But I do know people vary and go up and down in how hard they work or try in anything.

The situation Dak is in now is bigger for him than anytime since he was first trying to keep the starting role back in 2016.
So that is why I said he might be trying harder now, and be more motivated.

I dont think there are but a few NFL players that work as hard as they can all year every year, and in every game.
Tom Brady is one, and his buddy edelman are 2 that might do that or come close.

When I see him rifle balls into tight seams over linebackers in front of safeties, then I'll celebrate that he's turned a corner.
We could be waiting forever on those passes. He is mr safe and he doesnt attempt very many difficult passes.

At 25 and going into his 4th year in the NFL Dak Prescott has learned accuracy!
LOL.......ok put some def lineman in front of him and watch the ball sail away sail away sail away where only the Jolly Green Giant can catch it.........
FYI QB are born not Frankenstein-ed to greatness or else we would have a league full of Brady's and Rodgers and Brees......

Everyone can take this for whatever they feel it's worth, but there is mounting evidence and reports of the quarterback looking better than ever. That should be good news for any Cowboys fans.

Good for Dak! I want to see one of the worst in the redzone scoring get better and I want to see that 3rd down efficiency get better. Too many times we have heard great things in training camp or OTAs and the season starts and all those things we heard about have dissappeared.
