Yeah, we tried that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Basically, people love to complain. Take away the ones they are complaining about, and they'll get bored and turn on themselves. We saw that happen also!!!!
LMAO, the Silver Linings thread for Positive Pete's only was a ghost town.
It takes a variety to give it the personality that it has. If posters can just remember to argue the point, not the poster, they're fine but tempers flare. Sometimes I wonder if all of us were in a bar, the CZ Bar, how many bar fights would erupt? Or would they show that much venom in person?
Just because a poster has a differing opinion, even one diametrically opposed, doesn't make them wrong. I remember when I first signed up on the old DC.com, there were posters that came with a negative vibe but they weren't necessarily looking for an argument but maybe some reasons why they might look at it from a different viewpoint. "Show me where I'm thinking about this wrong". Getting in their face sure as hell wasn't going to accomplish that.
The amusing part of this is all of this because we are all witnesses to a man running his business. This is no different than the guy running his dry cleaners, it's a privately held business. We all have this "phantom stake" in it because we are fans and it gets to the point of, sometimes, losing our civility because of that.
I try to keep one thing in my mind when I am here, and I regret not being diligent enough about that. That's not a poster, that's a person. Some I know something about and one of the reasons I am so nosey is because I want to know more about that person posting. And I am not alone in that, plenty here want to know more about people they spend time communicating with and that best saying I ever heard applies here as well as in person. Treat everyone with kindness for we know not what battles they are fighting. And hell, allow posters a bad day, a bad mood and stop reacting and start responding. Disagreeing doesn't mean being disagreeable.
