Dak's play tonight

Someone had to start this thread.

Anyone know who caught Brett Favre's first pass completion? If I recall correctly, it was Brett Favre himself, back when he played for Atlanta. Tipped ball at the line, up in the air, caught it himself, tackle for loss. Dak and Favre have something in common I guess, they both pulled this off.

Apparently it went on the books as one of Dak's 4 completions tonight, giving him a 4 for 4 completion rate. All things considered I guess tipped balls are going to happen, and it's nice that Dak had the wherewithal to minimize the damage by securing the ball.

Does anyone have a clip of the long ball to Gallup that led to a pass interference call? From the one angle I saw on broadcast, it looked like the ball was right on target and the defender interfered out of desperation. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Otherwise I dont remember seeing much besides some short passes and some handoffs. I'm not surprised, it was the first and only series for the first team offense in the first preseason game of the year. There are lots of knee jerk reactions going around right now but I think any strong opinion is unjustified after the first preseason game.

All-in-all I'd like to see things start looking smoother as we get closer to opening day, tonight mostly looked like a goofy preseason game. Dak-Watch will have to simmer for another week.

You basically summed up his night...he didn't get hurt which was good. I actually thought the long ball PI could have gone either way...it's preseason so whatever. He looked fine, I'm not sure what folks want in preseason, like some gut wrenching drive like it's mid December

Red zone offense is still not putting TDs on the board and its why we lost.
yeah that is the main bad thing about the O tonite.
The thing is I dont remember dak throwing into the endzone 1 time, and in PS this is the time to do that because if it gets picked or is a miss
so what, go ahead and make those type throws for experience.
As it was they played it like it was a real game and lets get the fg ! lol

On the only series #4 played, he completed a short pass to a receiver (I was VERY tired and can't remember who) crossing under the LB's. That pass was (typically) behind the receiver which, IMO, caused the receiver to slow down, allowing the LB's to catch up to him. He may have scored if the pass was placed properly.

This has been my only reason for disliking #4. He's got the heart of a warrior, athletic, and strong, but his ability to hit a receiver in stride or lead him to an open area is horrible. Some think he can learn it, but if he was going to he would have already.

There are nine players around the line of scrimmage, clogging the passing lanes. Every pass is not going to be on target, no matter how great the QB is. Dak's play tonight was too small of a sample size to put together a real projection for the season.

But based off of our redzone struggles from last year, I'm thinking we're going to see more interceptions around the goal line from Dak this year. Simply because I think he'll be trying to force the throw in, to quite the doubters.

Same old Goofy Dak still portraying a unsure on his feet vibe and panic in the pocket I mean dang you can feel it sitting in your living room!
Just compare Dak's drop backs to Rush? Say what you will but Rush at least gives you a feeling that there's a real NFL QB in the pocket not panic Sally.
Anyway to summarize if Zeke doesn't start from week 1 get ready for a lot of Pain and a FG kicking offense courtesy of yes our own Mr. Prescott!

The defender flat out held Gallups arm which kept him from progression down field and effectively reaching both hands out for the ball. It was only one way that could have been called unless the ref was not in position to make the call. The good thing is now those types of plays can be reviewed.

Just one drive. Not a lot to go on with maybe a bit to grow on. Daks chemistry with Gallup is apparent. I heard someone say that Gallup on the offensive side of the ball was having the best camp. Michael looks good and Dak seems to trust him.

I thought Dak looked good up until the redzone. But your right about him throwing into the endzone. What I didnt like was Dak sacrificing himself to catch his batted ball. He shouldnt be taking hits in the first pre season game no matter how durable he is.

Personally I'm more concerned about Connor Williams. If the 49ers weren't playing their starting dl then he's not improved imo. Maybe we'll see more next week.

I'd rather the Cowboys not lose another starting QB due to injury in a preseason game, cause I am sure that Rush or White can't pull what Dak did when Romo went down.

The Red Zone ups his Panic factor immensely its pretty evident.
Hence the 29th ranking last season and it looked the same yesterday.
I swear you can smell how much he wants to tuck the ball and run run run when he's in the Red Zone as he has 0 faith in his throwing abilities!

Ridiculous. Cooper Rush was horrible. I think it was someone else with anxiety not the quarterback it's you that has zero faith and is throwing abilities. How can you possibly say a quarterback has no confidence.
