You need to actually click on the link instead of just reading the title. The info was right there in my post that you quoted, but didn't read.

https://overthecap.com/player/carson-wentz/4715/

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/carson-wentz-18950/

4 years/$128 million. That's $32 million/year

I already know it and have known it for some time. You miss the point and facts of my reply. Notice there was not one but 2 of you I quoted. Using Wentz for Daks contract is silly as he is now signed for 6 years and the 32 will be nothing in 2021 when it actually kicks in. QB contracts have been on an average of around 20% each year.

He wants to top Wentz, and he should.

I'm good with that. I think he should sign Dak to exactly that same deal.

2019 - $8.39
2020 - 18.6
2021 - 34.7
2022 - 31.3
2023 - 36.3
2024 - 32.0

That is a hell of a deal for Philly guys, it's a really great, team friendly deal for them. If Dak would sign that, I'd be all over it. Hell, the last year is a void year that carries a 5 mil cap hit so really, it's a 5 year deal and really, if they wanted to, could get out in 4 with a 15 mil cap hit. Yes, I'd sign Dak for that right now but Dak won't sign that because the average isn't 30 plus. It's like 26.3 and that's the real truth of it.

Then let him play it out. With the talent on this team both offensively and defensively there is no reason he shouldn't at least lead this team to an NFC championship. Especially in a year when the division is looking like a two team race.

He has never won an mvp, he isn't top 5 at his position (although as a dak supporter i'll admit he is still developing. Still that ridiculous to not accomplish much and want so much money.

I get its the market, but the year wentz down with injury he was going to be the league mvp. He also put his team in position to go on that SB run.

These threads about contract negotiations are hilarious but rather enlightening as far as what the posters respond. The Madden crowd live on every word from either side. The hater crowd lives on every word not pro the organization. The homer crowd lives on every word pro organization. The common sense crowd just takes a wait and see attitude. I fall into the later because these are negotiations. Give and take. Bartering goes back to the beginning of time. Yet so many “give it to me know” folks have not clue about how it works. It’s very eye opening for the enlightened.
Everybody likes to see themselves as above it all but those people (even myself at times) still always end up in the mess with the rest of the pigs smh.

This is very true and a funny way to phrase it.

We are all guilty of it at times.

Let him play out his contract and then apply the Tag if need be. If he doesn't play well this year, then time to move on.

We can't get caught in a long term contract with a mediocre QB.

No way should Dak accept anything less than what Wince got. You can thank the Eagles for this mess.
If we had signed Dak before the Eagles signed Wentz....we could have got a better deal...dont wait for the market. SET the market or do a prove it deal..
