That's easier said than done since they're already in one, but it's an interesting idea. I'm guessing Zeke signed it, or will when he gets back from Cabo.

A petition reportedly has been filed with the National Labor Relations Board seeking to create a separate union for NFL running backs.

According to the website Law360, the petition was filed Thursday by the International Brotherhood of Professional Running Backs and focuses on the shorter careers for players at the position.

Interesting idea. But I doubt they'll be successful with the union idea. Holding out remains their only viable option. And only for the stars. Jag's don't have a chance.
Holding out in your 3rd year is unheard of and our FO is in a bad spot. If they pay him then other players will do this or try it. If we don’t pay him and he does hold out then the season just got twice as hard.

I didn't like my compensation when I worked in retail. By these guy's "logic", I guess I should have created a union and demanded better pay...

Then again, it is 2019... You never know what will happen
I would like to form a World Wide Union of people in my profession. Once established it will cost you 10K to get a new cell phone model. The cost of internet service and other technology will begin to increase exponentially...

So are they going to negotiate a separate CBA with the league? That should be a blast.

Maybe there will be scabs that will cross lines and position themselves behind the QB while wearing a WR number. I’m looking at you Ty Montgomery.

Even if they could make it work, with the way teams use RB's, I would think that a RB coming out of college would have to pick which union he was going to be a part of and then the teams draft a player based on that choice. The separate RB union would be very short lived in that scenario.

I can see the collusion lawsuits already when the top back got shuttled to the 2nd or 3rd round!

Running backs need good representation in the current union not their own to gum up the works.

All that would do is insure that none of them ever got taken in the 1st round. Teams aren't going to invest 1st round money in a player that they don't have a 5th year option on. I mean, why would they?
I never thought Elliot would play the 5th year or under the tag. I wasn’t expecting him to hold out in his 4th year.

It's amazing they are able to feed their families the way they are paid now.

Not to mention the fact they're all pretty much guranteed a six/seven figure media job when they retire. Dude lacks for nothing.
