I want Zeke to get paid and want the Cowboys to move on. I don't know how you achieve Zeke not getting paid and being a Cowboy. If its possible go for it. I don't see it.
Contract or not, he'll be playing for the 'Boys this year, I guarantee it...

Measured solely by his performance, maybe. But, taken with the off-field nonsense, no way!

And, I loved the pick and have been a supporter.
There is that to consider and he's made that bed with his actions and I am not referring to the DV as that is still a mystery.

I also loved the pick and he was as complete a RB as I've seen come out of college up to that point and I really liked his blocking skills for the QB we had at that time.

However, they picked him with that red flag of his HC asking his Dad to move to Columbus so they went in with eyes open.

While some hammer him for the ego thing, this "kid" has been a spotlight since he was a 3 year sport player at a high quality educational high school. He's not a dumb jock. The ego is a big part of the NFL or they wouldn't have these "no other _________ can make more than me" clauses and if we think the money isn't a card that gets played within teams and the league, we need to rethink that.

I do get a kick out of all the indignation likes he's doing something to us. How dare him run his own life, he owes us, he owes the team. No, he does not owe either anything. And with all of this angst aimed at Elliott, I would be surprised at any player on that team being that way either. They all understand the real game better than any of us do.

Under the circumstances I think top 5 is plenty fair, him holding out because he wants to be the TOP paid RB is a typical, entitled, dbag move by him.

Or it's called knowing your worth despite those who want to deny you anything based on their "regular joe" perspective. I'd give that the finger too if I were a player.

No one has to listen, there’s an ignore feature homer, use it. BTW, Zeke is top 3-5 but not the best.
I do think he is top 3 and top 2 considering Gurley's lack of durability, the most undervalued attribute of players.

But it's not our opinion that matters. He's led the league in rushing 2 of his 3 years and just like Prescott's QB winning 66% win %, how does a player get graded and valued by his team? Well, the COO already put Elliott next to Gurley so he figures he should get paid like that.

And this talk of the RB's trying to form their own union, something is going on behind the curtain with the RB's that we're not privy to. This may be more than just Elliott wanting more money, there has been a growing disrespect of the RB position with that "dime a dozen" comment they've heard and "anyone can run behind that OL" and they're fighting for their status and I wonder how many conversations Elliott has had with his contemporaries about the plight of the RB in a league with escalating salaries disproportionate with the RB salary growth?

First Bell, now Gordon and Elliott and it would surprise me if the others don't join in.

Just curious, how does Jaylon's contract "look out for the team"? His contract pays him the 2nd highest guaranteed money for a MLB in the league.
Given that the rumor is that Zeke, Amari and Dak were all offered top 5 money and turned it down, I'm guessing that they are asking for a lot more than the 2nd highest.

So why not just pay players on an annual basis? Say Zeke was the best in the league last year, if Jerry gives him 50 million guaranteed, will Zeke give some of that back if his production doesn’t match his “worth”?

Was that in guaranteed money or the funny ego money that they can brag about like Aikman's 100M contract? I've seen the owner side of things play the funny money game as if the player will see all of that money.

The next message should be a trade for a RB and it leaking that Zeke is now available.

Lol, I love “disrespect” for the RB. Let them sit out, there will be a new guy straight out of college that would love to take their place. The O lone was one of the most disrespected positions there were for years, it seems their finally getting their due. That’s the way it goes, supply and demand and right now there is plenty of supply for RB’s and not as much demand. Lol, it’s really unbelievable. Who ever thought a certain position would form a union because they feel “disrespected” and feel they’re over worked and underpaid? Perhaps Tampax will sponsor them.

What’s next, they’re going to lobby for only a certain amount of touches per game? I’m sure a lot of people would support that too. “This guy is going out there and putting his body on the line every play, he should et at least 25K per each touch under 20 and 40K for each touch over 20.

I hope the kickers form a union, personally I think they’re the most under appreciated and underpaid position. Not even joking.

It doesn't get much better than top 2 money. It's all about what's in the guaranteed portion of a contract. I wonder if any of the 3 Amigos have turn down top 2 money.

Guess you miss these days when Zeke was out.....

The numbers back it up too. He was literally the worst quarterback in the league (and one of the worst in recent memory) the instant Zeke was taken off the field. He became the only QB in at least 10 years to turn the ball over 8+ times and throw 0 TDs over a 3 game span!

Are you sure you're a Boys fan bud?

I want only the best for the Boys, and Zeke is only the worst. Off the field issues never stop with him. Okay, there are times when Zeke looks unstoppable, but then there are just as many times when the other team does stop him. He is not the key to our success that everyone thinks he is. I would rather have peace off the field than his production on it.

Contracts are risks for both parties. That is all factored in. So whatever any other player has already has that risk factored in and so too will Zeke's eventual contract.

So what’s the point in a “contract”?

What if Zeke gets his “contract” and decides in 2 years that he’s still not being paid enough because the salary cap went up and decides to sit again after he already got his guaranteed money?

All Running backs can be stopped including Zeke. The question one must ask is what is our QB and our passing game doing when the defense is committed with 7-8 man boxes to stop the run?
Ditto and check-mate as this was proven when Zeke was out therefore lets find a QB who can GUT them out when there stopping Zeke. and trust me our offense will be unstoppable!
