Some call me Dak homer, Dak lover, Dak supporter or whatever but here is my honest opinion.

Dak isn't a great QB but he isn't terrible. He is really good though. It's he perfect, no and to try and hold him to that standard is silly.

The last 2 weeks haven't been great games for the entire team. Against the Saints Dak has to play better but so does the entire offense. Play calling was terrible, no deep passes, no Pollard, run every first down, it was very Linehan like. Where is the blame for Zeke and Witten fumbling back to back possessions?

Against GB I blame Dak for the 2nd and 3rd pick. Both were terrible throws and decisions. That 3rd pick was the worst because you are down 2 scores and threw a pick that put GB in FG range to go up by 17 again. In the press conference Dak said he seen Gallup getting hit all the way up the field so he threw it to get a penalty..... Sorry but that's the wrong line of thinking, if you throw that don't put it in harm's way. Is Dak the reason we lost that game.... No. Was he part of us not winning..... Absolutely. The Cooper drop that was picked off turned the game around but that was 100 percent on Cooper. It was 100 percent catchable and Cooper failed. Dak also hit Cooper later that would have been a long TD but Cooper lost his balanced. I see no one blaming Cooper, or the defense, or the OL.

Some of you guys act like Dak is the only reason we lose but he doesn't get credit when we win. It goes both ways.

That trash didn’t even deserve this response. Good post.

Here-below are some of his Draft Profiles...you be the judge how correct the experts were?

Weaknesses:
  • Inconsistent accuracy
  • Inconsistent field vision
  • Needs to get faster with his eyes
  • Needs to learn working under center
  • Needs development for a pro-style offense
  • College-offense inflated stats
  • College offense ran lot of plays he won't run in the NFL

Dak Prescott made the Pro Bowl as a rookie after the Dallas Cowboys selected him with the 135th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, and the former Mississippi State star wasn't expected to tear up the league initially.

Pro Football Focus listed Prescott as a "buyer beware" prospect, ESPN's Mel Kiper wrote that Prescott is a "is a solid guy to have on the bench, but I question the starting upside," and NFL.com compared Prescott to Brett Hundley, who has a career rating of 70.6.

Prescott joined The Dan Patrick Show Wednesday and read some of his negative pre-draft profiles, and said he'd like to keep the paper for motivation.

Dak Prescott: "Accuracy on intermediate and deep throws, NOT sharp. Not in capital, capitalization. Hyper-aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw."

Dan Patrick: "True."

Dak Prescott: "…. Footwork is a mess."

WEAKNESSES
Beat up this year thanks to poor protection. When he wasn't being sacked, he was being hit hard. Not as competitive a rusher in 2015. Sacks and usage in run game might be taking a toll. Increase in short pass attempts from 86 to 208 this year reason for higher completion numbers. Accuracy on intermediate and deep throws dropped sharply. Pocket poise has been compromised. Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw. Concern over pressure too often trumps ability to get through progressions. Must speed up the pace of his reads. Footwork is a mess. Slight stride onto stiff upper leg with little weight shift. Restricted follow through and too often tries to muscle throws with upper body. Throws to target rather than leading or throwing them open on short/intermediate throws. Too respectful of underneath coverage and must be more willing to challenge the defense. Needs to improve anticipation.

Thank you Pappy. So much of this is true and this is the QB that the Dak lovers want to bet the future of the Cowboys on. These are the reasons why I don’t like him and never will. Whenever any pressure starts getting to him, he reverts back to being the QB that this describes.

He's a middle of the pack guy. Can't pay him #1 money for that production.
But the Dak lovers are clamoring to see him sign a contract that will make him the highest paid QB in the league. Their Dak lust blinds them to common sense. Paying him a huge amount of money will not make him a better QB. It will only hurt the team’s salary cap for years to come.

I’m like the third or fourth biggest joke. You and Pappy fight for the biggest joke on this site and it’s no one close.

I hear what you’re saying. I do. I just cringe when people throw out Tebow’s name, simply for the fact that Tebow was so soooooo bad in the NFL. Not even backup quality.

Whereas, the argument about Dak is whether he is an average level starter or above average. Tebow couldn’t even hang in the NFL as a back up.

So yeah. I understand the college similarities and personality similarities. So I won’t argue you on that part. I just think it’s a poor comparison given the vast difference in overall quality of play.
You might hate the comparison but a lot of things people like you have said about Dak were definitely said about Tebow when he was winning those games in Denver. He wouldn't have a good game but would have a play or two in the end and folks would say he's clutch/gamer. Many also obviously said he was a good teammate and good kid etc. Being a LSU fan I've been said Dak was Tebow for years now. The quality of play isn't necessarily that vast. I think Dak is better but still think he's only an Alex Smith level QB at best. I will always believe if Dak has another team in NFCE more people would agree that he's average at best and needs pro bowlers at dang near every position to make it.

I've been consistent on this I believe, but the only people who should have a record in the NFL are Head Coaches, GMs, the TEAM and the team ownership. In college it is the HC, AD, the TEAM and school.

Football is the ultimate team sport. I wish they would get rid of this corny concept of QB records as a whole (in regular season, playoffs, big games, vs winning teams or vs losing teams). It is nonsense either way. What's Zeke's record since he came in the League? Or Fred Beard? He touches the ball every offensive play when he plays. So...see how silly it sounds? Knock it off with the QBs record.

Despite my belief that Prescott is a middle of the pack QB based on skill set (not intangibles). I don't give credence to this type of tweet nor to ones touting some make believe record of his since 2016.

Just my two pennies...

Dak was riding on high with the first 3 games. What irks me the most about our team which coincides with Dak’s play, is if we lose a player on the offensive side, I’m going into the week worried. Well, that goes for the defensive side too but

GB loses their staring WR and touts a rookie OL, Philly in their Super Bowl run, loses LBs and I believe a key OL.

Coaching? Dak? Whatever it is, it’s not the end of the world but the next 2 are must wins. We need to get back on track with the lowly Jets but the game that will be telling if we make it to the playoffs is the one with the Eagles. We’re going to see what this team is made of with the next two games.

Agree. The birds will want to regain their mojo against us, and will be ready.

Our problem is we shoot ourselves in the foot with missed catches, turnovers, penalties. Otherwise we would have been in a shootout with GB and probable W.

Never thought I'd see a game where we help Rodgers with no TD passes and we lose....

The Cooper drop that was picked off turned the game around but that was 100 percent on Cooper. It was 100 percent catchable and Cooper failed.

That was a bad pass, and it's more on Dak than Cooper. Blows my mind that so many people give that a pass. I'll say this again:

Dak had a clean pocket, no pressure, and fifteen yards to a receiver who had beaten his defender, with a wide open middle of the field. And he throws it behind him. I'm not going to argue that Cooper couldn't catch it, but I will say, in his defense, that's an extremely difficult catch to make. Had it been an accurate pass that led the receiver, it's more than likely a touchdown. The ENTIRE reason that ball was tipped was because it was thrown behind the ******* receiver.

Wrong. I played receiver and no that wasn't a difficult catch. It's 100 percent on Cooper, dude it hit both hands and in his chest. Stop with the excuses, the entire reason it was tipped is because Cooper has questionable hands.

Unlike Romo, Dak is surrounded by Pro Bowlers. Romo didn’t have that luxury.
Get out of here. In 2007, the Cowboys sent 13 players to the pro-bowl, more than any EVER. Since you don't remember I can list the ones that were on offense.
Terrell Owens, Jason Witten, Flozell Adams, Tony Romo, Andre Gurode, Leonard Davis, Marion Barber.
