Wouldn't mind a Riley type guy but wouldn't be shocked if it would be a Dan Campbell type guy.
Probably would allow Jerry to have an opinion on assistant coaches

I have little interest in hearing from a long time Garrett supporter telling me how to respond to anything.

Then why talk to me? That act belies your narrative. Glad I made such an impact on you though.

As I said for the past two years I am fine with replacing Garett if its an improvement. You all or nothing types are amusing though.

Have any replacement candidates or you need to let out more angst?

Well I’m just telling you what I think is probable, not necessarily what is best.
We can through out as many names that interest us as we want. But odds are we are going to get a mediocre retread with a bigger reputation than actual coaching ability

I think we need a house-cleaning to get the Garrett offense completely out of the building and a young offensive head coach who knows how to teach a QB and build a playbook to take advantage of his players. My #1 would be Riley but I like the idea of McCarthy too, though McCarthy seems to prefer a 3-4 defense and I don't. I also like the Shanahan offense and guys who coached under Andy Reid. Eric Bieniemy, anybody?

Cowboys need someone to hold these players accountable and show a little emotion when things go wrong.

Here is an important question. What would be best, a team manager that would let his staff run there respective sides of the ball. Or more of a tactical HC who would be more involved in play calling?

The perfect candidate would be all the above.

Assist in acquiring VFA and college talent.
Create and oversee effective offseason player development.
Motivate and lead.
Manage Dallas FO and the media.
Assist in creating effective schemes and the practice regimes to implement them.
Assist in weekly gameplans.
Perfect game management.
Insightful, swift, and effective adjustments.

And anything else that makes a difference in terms of wins and losses. The more the better. Garrett gets about half of that. We can and should try to do better.

When you make an argument, have it refuted directly, and repeat your original argument it makes you look dim. When your argument is an appeal to derision, it makes you look obsessive and dim.

Then you have a short memory.

The opening day loss to the expansion Texans and the team capitulation against GB in 2012 were much worse. I get that it is new.

And frankly there is a nice fire Garrett thread. I see no reason why we cannot have another thread where people actually discuss solutions.

Those are the top 2 on Jerrys list IMO. Outside of Lincoln, who out there that’s available is a definite upgrade?

You need a hell of a lot more contrition to come back here pal. On your knees.

If Dak is going to be the QB, it's Lincoln Riley or bust.

McVay, Shanahan, Riley (and Belichek) might be the only guys who can turn a team into a contender with Dak at QB.
