That non-PI call was the play of the game

Jeez, do you people ever stop whining about the officials? We literally got a bogus call the same drive on 3rd Down that enabled us to extend the drive (a closer FG try in the end). Here's the play. It seems to me that Smith was trying to break on the ball and Witten was trying to box him out from doing so when they collided. You could almost call Witten for mowing the little guy down, lol. The biggest factor that no one mentions is that the ball was thrown behind Witten which is a hallmark of Dak at times. He wasn't catching that anyways with his reduced agility.

Because the defender was playing the ball, not Witten. He's allowed to do that. Had Witten not been there, it would have been an interception.
The Cowboys were gifted a first down early in that drive based on a bogus defensive holding call that was called. The drive would have ended right there if the official hadn't bailed them out.
Then Amari Cooper pushed off on his touchdown reception in the end zone- Offensive Pass Interference anywhere in the NFL-except last night.
The Cowboys can't complain about the refs. They are getting some generous calls.

Yeah, no. The DB was draped ALL over Amari previous to his push off. They were letting them ball at that point, and weren't going to throw a flag.

Moral of the story is, don't put yourself in the position to lean on calls/no calls from the Zebras. Take care of your business, don't fall back 14 points, don't miss field goals, don't rely on officiating to bail you out or **** you over.

Sure Witt may have embellished it a little, but he was clearly playing the man and not the ball. and as far as it being behind him, he got a hand on it so it was catchable for him. and being who he is he should get that call. But then Moore and Garrett would've just tried to have Zeke run it in 4 times and game over.

You can't run through or tackle a guy going for the ball.

So Witten was tackled in the end zone and there was a no call.. that was the play of the game IMO with the feed to Zeke finnally. I know why we didn't challenge it, because the NFL puts in a rule and doesn't enforce it. I mean why put in a challenge rule and not call it fairly. Before someone says push off from Cooper, he broke away not pushed.

There was literally no reason not to challenge the no-call. So what if we burn a TO at that point.

No, you actually can't. You can make contact if both players have a good position to go for the ball, but if the receiver has position you can't run through him and knock him down to get to the ball.
The defensive back had position and Witten ran through him.

It was a make up no call for the phantom holding call against Witten that kept the drive going in the first place.

We lost this game the minute we allowed 14 points early, but its comical to see people defending that call.

I saw an old man fall down from contact at the top of his route, I didn't see a tackle. I also saw him drop a perfect pass on a slant that would have extended one of our 1st qtr drives and maybe got us points.

I certainly agree you can't pin the whole game on that call - we never should have been in the situation where that call was so critical.

That's what's debatable to me. Did the contact knock Witten down or did he go down trying to turn back for the ball that was behind him? The telling thing I saw on the play was that Witten himself didn't ask for a flag. I have seen him do it before so it's interesting that he didn't there as important as it was. Not sure if that matters but it was interesting nonetheless.
