Oh, well; now that he's learned his lesson we should all be ashamed; give him at least 5 more years.
It's only taken 9 years for him to learn that line.

That doesn't worry me. I don't think the head coach is the only reason players give 100%. If they don't have that in them to begin with they won't do it no matter who the head coach is.

It's happened before. To our own team too. If players aren't happy with a HC not putting them in the best position possible to win games, they will grow unhappy and things can go South. I've seen it first hand. If you look at JUST the Viking game, there are a number of things that occurred that were not what good coaching does. And he has a history of it nearly every playoff-ish game. It very much matters who the HC is IMO.

Well you can pretty much bank on it that ST Coach O'Quinn will not be here next year. Supposedly he's the one that told Tavon to fair catch it. And when Jason asked him about it he played stupid and told Garrett he never told him to fair catch it. This one isn't on Garrett per se. But he should have owned it from the jump and handled it in house after that. But he's not a real leader of men. He's a snake, that's how he got the job to begin with, hence why his beloved players on the team are snakes.

The only thing I would say about this is that similar claims have been made in the past about Garrett, and Garrett didn't feel the need for damage control then. Knowing that, isn't it possible Garrett talked to Austin and found that the message was not clearly communicated to him, and now he is taking the monkey off Austin's back?
And let's remember, even though Garrett initially said Austin had an option, he did not criticize the choice.

If we were getting blown out every game and weren't in the playoff race, that's one thing. I obviously can't know what's in players heads, but I personally don't think we are in danger of players not having the desire to play hard.
