Even though he admittedly had a tough game, I’m going to trust Travis’ sentiment on this one.
I’d love to. The problem is he hasn’t really said anything. Sure he was upset and yelled at the sidelines because he didn’t like a running play being called....but that makes me uncomfortable when a guy yells at the sidelines because he is upset that he was asked to block a single man with the help of his teammate. It makes me wonder if he went into the whole play with the wrong attitude because he was having a tantrum over the play call.

I’d be more comfortable if he took responsibility for his missed block vs blaming the play call. The play call set the OL up for success. He and Connor turned it into a loss.

something smells bad about this no matter which way it’s sliced.

This team needs a strong leader (coach) that would not accept this.

a culture that enables or empowers a player to yell at the coach in front of an entire stadium has real issues.

we love to talk about the Patriots. Can you imagine a patriots OL yelling towards the coaching staff like this. The player wouldn’t be allowed to play the next game. You don’t have to like the playcalling but yelling at your coaches because you failed to execute is backwards logic. They should be yelling at Frederick and Williams if anything.

The inmates are running the asylum.

I tried to tell y'all

You all want to scream championship, and troll this troll that.

Now look at all you cheerleaders. Don't get mad now.

Dak is part of the problem also.

I also believe many of us misinterpreted what Frederick was saying.
Our offense has options to run many plays from the same formation. He wasn’t saying he didn’t understand the defensive alignment. He was saying they were not familiar with running that running play from the offensive alignment. So basically he was upset because they have not practices that branch of that formation which lead to obvious mental mistakes.

This falls on the OC in a way. He expected too much and got too cute in a critical situation. The play call was smart. Very smart. We had them beat if we executed. But rolling that out raw like that in that situation wasn’t the best idea.

Either way Fredrick shouldn’t be yelling at the coaches.

Dak had the option to keep it and run....he didn't because he's afraid of contact.

So I really wish people would quit blaming Kellen Moore for the play call. If Dak makes the right read....this would have been a non issue.

Your endless pimping of anyone from Boyzee State is beyond tiresome.

Frederick was frustrated that the blocking scheme called was impossible given the D alignment, combined with the assumption that there was no audible option given on the play (otherwise he wouldn't have faced the sideline to show his disagreement, he would have mentioned something in the huddle - edited: whoops, no huddle at the time -)

I was with you and felt like u had a little ground to stand on. But Dak being part of the problem is where you lost all credibility. I've never been sold on Dak until this year. I called his game trash but he proved me and many many others wrong. The guy is an elite QB. I hope and pray we don't waste another elite QB talent

This entire conversation is stupid, biased, and just the result of coach hate, the latter Im not arguing against.

Every honest fan on this board knows in his/her heart that the following is 100% true.
  1. If Dak pulls the ball away from Zeke and keeps it and is stopped for a loss, the outrage would be on the QB taking the ball out of the hands of our 90 million dollar RB and our highly paid OL.....what an idiot! If he audibles to pass and it doesn’t work, same thing.
  2. If Moore calls two pass plays, resulting in a sack, a penalty, or simply incomplete passes, anything but a first down, both he, Garrett, and Dak would still be getting destroyed by fans and the media. We’ve all seen it before. “Just feed Zeke 3 times! We have the best OL, the top power back. We’ve lost our identity. Idiots!”
If you’re honest, you know that’s true. No play call was guaranteed to work against a good defense. We are all angry that we were stuffed, but any play call would be ridiculed if it was stopped.

Fred was upset?! No crap.....He wasn’t able to execute his reach block. It happens. This is the NFL. Had we at least stopped the DL penetration and Zeke had powered for the first down and we’d gone ahead to win, it would be the Vikings frustrated, wondering why there was a call for an unusual, unused front alignment at a critical moment.

the OL didn’t step up when needed. It’s not Zeke or Dak that failed. I think the one legitimate complaint against coaching was the fourth down call by Moore.

The Vikings had eight defenders in the box for only two of Elliott’s carries and none after his third carry. They had seven defenders in the box eight times and only six in the box 10 times.
As for those final two red-zone runs, Barr said he and Kendricks both read run pre-snap and alerted the front line.

“The Cowboys show tips,” Barr said. “They’re real heavy in their stances, how they set. Usually, Eric and I have a good feel for that as the game goes on.

I don't like the play call BUT I can guarantee you the coaching staff sees it as "if only Connor Williams and Travis Fredrick handle that block, there's a good chance of getting the first down, milking the clock and putting us into position to win...". That seems to be the Garrett mindset in his time here and that they'll practice it more and try it again if in the same position hoping it works...rather than scheming up something different.

Sigh.. GO LOOK at the play with Akoye, please do yourself that much before you come spread ignorance on the forums. I did, and even HAD Dak kept the ball, there was a defender 1/2 a yd off the 1st down mark on the side he HAD to run to...good lord. Yea the loss is ALL on Dak ...

Just looking at the spread of the Dline, if Dakota was behind center, he could have easily sneaked for two yards.

Looked like that to me, too. The way that DL was spread out, they could have driven a truck through there. (Dak is that truck!)
