Is there a poster insightful enough to explain why Dak and Cooper are still not signed?

Cooper wasn’t in a contract year when he played well with the Cowboys last year.
he didn't show for every game, see when that happens to zeke its an issue because he got paid and fans are targeting him now, he was big game or gone and it was 8 games..the injury stuff is becoming an issue..it will effect the contract..it happened in Oakland and some games last year..this years hes playing through it all as much as he can because its contract year..thats motivation..

It's very simple. There is no urgency. When deadlines approach, deals will be made. If you're going to have to eventually guarantee 100 million plus, wouldn't you prefer that money makes you interest and not Dak or coop as long as there's no pressing need. I would.

Nobody has big games every week. That’s not how it works. That’s not how it’s working this year either, yet you are talking about how well he is playing because it’s a contract year.

Too much focus on oil and gas plays and not enough on signing his best players???
They bet on themselves and are in no rush. They both have JJ by the balls and they know it. The writing was on the wall as soon as Cooper mentioned 2k yards.

Why should either players agent be in any hurry to get the player signed for anything less that the ultimate amount possible. Both players are unrestricted, having the best year of their career and only one can be franchised. Again why would the agent who has all the leverage give up said leverage and be willing to have the player sign for anything less than the most possible! The purpose of the agent is to get the best possible contract for his client... not make fans happy or worry about the teams salary cap! If the team wanted to try to get a bargain deal then they should have tried signing them immediately after last season... hell, Cooper should have been resigned when traded for.

There might be quite a few of us on here that could predict that or give a certain reason but you got to remember you're talkin about the front office of Jerry and Stephen Jones so there could be a million and one reasons LOL

I really don't think it is about money at this point. And I don't say that in a bad way. I think both want to be in Dallas and will be in Dallas. I don't see these two players worshipping the almighty buck. I could be wrong but Dak and Cooper just seem to me to be focused on this season and trust the business side of the game will take care of itself. And I think both Dak and Cooper trust Jerry. Maybe they don't want their signings to be a distraction to the team during the season.

My best guess is that Dak especially, and Cooper probably, want to win so bad that they don't want to sign the big contract and lose the drive to succeed during this critical time during mid-season. Sometimes people lose a little of that drive which sometimes comes when you get a big pile of money all of the sudden.

Both seem to me to be big team players.

Dak was offered $30 mil a year and turned it down, so yes it’s about the money!

Julio stays hurt but manages to play through most of the bumps and bruises. It didn't effect his contract. As long as Coop finishes the majority of the season I doubt its a factor. Jmo.

No one has ever seen the structure of that deal. Without knowing guarentees its hard to know what the offer stands at.

Everything Ive heard is about length if contract. We want him for longer than hes willing to commit to at this point.

For Dak I think he wants to make sure he has one more big deal after this one. Yes every contract is about the money in one way or another.

The serious contenders have QBs - it’s part of why they are contenders.

Doesn't take a lot of insight to figure out we simply didn't offer what each player thinks they're worth. Deals will get done.
You mean no drama or underlying story where one side or the other is plotting in the shadows? No reading between the lines that the Cowboys aren’t sold on the players, or the players desperately want out of Dallas?

Just simply they haven’t yet agreed on the appropriate terms? Surely you are mistaken!

waiting til Christmas.

Stephen Jones now negotiates the contracts (see Lawrence, DeMarcus...).

Teams normally expect a player to take a slightly team favorable contract if they sign the player before his contract is up.

Teams will be able to use both a Franchise Tag and Transition Tag next year (unless the CBA gets signed early which despite positive reports, seem unlikely).

lyou have to have the qb and the cowboys do but it also takes a head coach and that they don't have
How many teams have a championship level head coach and a team with championship level talent, but is missing a QB?

Cooper and Dak aren't focused on getting signed. And more than likely the agents are trying to break the bank so they can get huge cuts

Jerry stated Dak's signing would be imminent. Cooper would be signed soon as well. Unfortunately Jerry is in his prime Alzheimer years.
