Gaede--imagine..ok easy to see us making playoffs....but lets say we go into playoffs and no one is really hurt and 3 weeks before we got on this roll like last year...and then all of a sudden we begin picking off teams in post season and we are in super bowl and then we put beatdown on opponent?....i have seen Giants do it in 2011..one point they were 6-6 that year

That does not happen with this team. Sorry.

I'd love to hold out hope but it's been 8 years of this same mediocre bull crap and I'm done caring.

Bad coaches and bad calls are not ending this season. We need a new coach and we need to take Blandino out to Vegas undercover and get it on tape.

Then we have a shot

How many times have we seen a thread like this after a loss?

'guys, it's not that bad! everyone else lost too! we're still in the division lead'. 'we lost but played well!' 'we lost, but learned some valuable lessons!' 'we didn't get completely blown out and embarrassed this time!'

Meanwhile, we crap out in the wild card game because of this exact loser's mentality

If I would have talked that way around Tom Landry he would have escorted me out of the building. My services wouldn't be needed.

There's a standard here. The day we no longer hold the franchise to that standard is the day the Dallas Cowboys truly die.

I just will never do it. I have too much respect for the forefathers of this franchise.

Yep..

I let myself get invested again today but I’m used to this outcome.

I’m as pissed about this L as anyone. Refs screwed us but it happens. That’s life. We had chances to win and we didn’t.

But this week wasn’t a total disaster, simply because the Eagles lost too. They’re still a game back. We’ll need to beat them in Week 16 and Philly’s easier schedule isn’t going to save them from having to beat us in Week 16.

I’ll take it 1 step further. Entering today, Philly had a better chance to win today than Dallas. Philly was a 1-point home favorite vs Seattle, we were 6.5-point road underdogs. Today could’ve been disastrous for us.

But in all honesty, once Philly lost to Seattle, our game at NE was like we were playing with house money.

Move on to Buffalo. Thursday will be here quickly and that will be a huge game too.

Think about it like this: before today, we all figured we’d probably go 1-1 over our next 2 games. We can (and should) still do that with a win on Thursday.

This won’t be as deflating a loss to the team as it feels to us fans right now. Our guys know they just went toe-to-toe with the boogeyman and should’ve come out on top. I’m expecting a W on Thanksgiving and the optimism will be back.

Okay, I’m still pissed too. But typing all of this was therapeutic.

Yeah, but do you by any chance see this team going anywhere at the playoffs? I think we actually have the talent but we for sure don’t have the coaching or organization.

Probably not.

But “probably not” applies to most teams. We’re still in 1st place and we have the talent.

We’ve been in 4 games that were decided by 4 Pts or fewer... and we’re 0-4 in those games. We were terrific in 1-score games last year (9-3 I believe) so hopefully we’re due for some close wins.

I'll never understand why some of you feel this way, it's been decades since this team did anything. DECADES!

Do you watch sports?

How long had it been since the Eagles last Super Bowl win before 2017?

Did the Cowboys commit to building an aggressive attacking pass rushing defense (with a coordinator equally aggressive)? The reason those Giants teams won was few turnovers by the offense (and very good running game) and amazing pass rush. Plus they got fortunate by injuring Brady that first SB, and never stopped attacking him (add in that ridiculous 4th down grab and a miracle happened). Tom Coughlin was maniacal with controlling that team, and they had the personnel to pull it off.

This team is not built like that. Our defense is not even in the realm of dominant. They do not have waves elite pass rushers from all positions. I don't need to delude myself. If I saw that capability, I might say it was a possibility-but I don't see those characteristics. If the team gets hot against a bunch of other also rans and then craps out against the elite squads in the playoffs, does that give you much pleasure or satisfaction?

Anyone that is still following this team after 25 years of playoff failure is not a bandwagon fan (by definition). Quit trying to define fans as good fans by being pleased that the team manages to show up in the correct uniforms and actually not look like complete buffoons who don't try to win. I would argue that this type of fandom is at the root of the team's current issues. Zero accountability from the front office because mediocre fans continue to write blank checks to a franchise that puts together a semi-competitive squad. Look at the cowboys, they try hard and win more than they lose!

San Francisco was hideously bad the past few years (and likely realized it was better to be terrible in order to get an elite pick rather than an outside the top 5 pick that make it easier to miss on a pick). That front seven is as good as any in the league, and will be a tough out. Seattle, them, New Orleans, and kinda Green Bay/Minnesota are the real threats in the NFC this season. New England, KC, and Baltimore are the real threats in the AFC. I would guess that one of those teams will represent each conference in the coming SB based on current team characteristics.

I'm calm. I'd rather not be, but I've been calm for many years now. I want to get excited, but the way this team is built keeps me from that.

I am as bummed and angry as anyone, but I checked it out and we are favored in four of our remaining five games and the other one is the Eagles, which we know we can whip.

Also, I think the Eagles are actually playing much worse than we are at this point. So, I agree, I think we go 10-6, 9-7 and we get in. Do we go on a run in the playoffs? Probably not, but I am not ready to give up on the '19 season yet.

Stop with the nonsense positivity this team is not a play off team . It’s garbage coaches with zero accountability and a roster that under performs every single week .

I'll give you the garbage coaches and zero accountability but if the roster under performs every week like you say, we wouldn't have won any games... So that response isn't a fair assessment if you know what you're talking about.. I think you're letting your emotions type rather than typing logically...

This is my thing as well. All this chatter that we can still win the division. So? What is that going to do? Anybody really sitting here thinking this team can make a run in the playoffs let alone win one game in the playoffs? I don't. It is another wasted season. The winning for me will come when Garrett is officially given the boot.

@Nav22 who cares? You're right, of course. They're still going to win the division and go to the playoffs, probably with a 9-7 record. Are we supposed to be happy about that?

The narrative for this game is not that the refs stole the game. There are bad calls in every game, especially when you're playing the Patriots at home. The narrative is that Garrett and his staff were once again completely outcoached. He looks lost on the sidelines.

So great, the Giants and Commanders are horrible and the Eagles are cratering, so yeah, we'll win the division. Then the team will get bounced in the wildcard round at home by the Seahawks. That doesn't make me feel better at all.

I used to post threads like this, good on ya for doing it. This was ugly but the reality is we played the defending Super Bowl champs on the road in crap weather, turned the ball over and played Special Teams poorly enough to get our Special Teams coach fired sooner or later.

That's normally a 28 point loss and we were still a couple of made up tripping penalties away from winning. Horseshoes and handgrenades, but the season is far from over.
