Kicker is killing us

Special Teams in general has been awful... poor field position, poor coverage, poor punting, and yes— placekicking has hurt us as well.

Just been a brutal year in regards to ST, but this goes back to JJ and JG only working with guys they know— and refusing to value and pay for players that could help us in this department

Jerry, is killing this team.

I wish he would have said 4 coaches could get this team to a SB instead of 500.......now we'll all be dead with no SB to enjoy

I can't wrap my my mind around that someone pubically admits "I'm a socialpath".

At this point unless it is a 60+ yard FG, we should just look at it as 4 downs.

Bailey spoiled us , He really gave us something we could always count on . Jerry needs to buy us a kicker from SOMEWHERE . We have tolerated his gambling of our second round picks on the injured and drug addicted .

We have tolerated his need for a Kitty Kat coach with no talent other than letting Jerry accept all the credit for anything good that happens

We have tolerated no first round picks used on a DT or QB

But by god we deserve a freaking consistant kicker and Jerry needs to search the world for retired soccer players CFL guys or anyone able to kick a stationary ball through the posts .

After watching our Garrett lead offense muddle its way to the 30 and stall its just too painful to come away with nothing continually and give the enemy good field position .

Come on Jerry we have suffered enough show some mercy and buy us a kicker

I hear that but I think we are going to need a new coach and scheme to do that . Since that wont happen before the playoffs a Kicker is the one guy who could give us some points we are lacking and possbly help us in the tournament

Maher making the team is a disgrace. Most here called it. Guy sucks. Jerry and company are so arrogant though. No accountability and they want to always be smarter.

Yes, I was pleased to hear that. The best we could hope for signing a free agent kicker mid season is to get someone decent/competent. But that would be better than what we have. Blows my mind that the kicker who holds the record (twice) of the longest field goal in Cowboys' history is this bad. But sometimes bizarre stuff happens.

It's better than not trying. Maher shouldn't be playing. He's the exact opposite of "money." There's no reason to keep him. Regardless of you think he can kick deep.

The Bills and Patriots kicker missed give me FGs and extra points too. The Patriots had Nick Folk when they played us.

The Cowboys brought in three kickers to try out and didn’t sign any of them. You need to come to grips with the fact there’s no consistent kickers sitting on the street. They’re unemployed for a reason. The kicker some on the board wanted us to pick up missed an extra point for the Pats last night. You can’t just change to make a change or you’ll end up with the same problem with a kicker who has less leg. Kickers are streaky maybe Maher will come around. We’re just going to have to ride out the rest of the season with him and bring in some kickers to compete during the offseason. We could possibly use a late round pick on a kicker.

When you consider how this Head Coach likes to play it conservative on gamedays, it makes you wonder just what in the hell he was thinking.

Hitching his wagon to the kicker equivalent of Wild Thing was bound to backfire.

Bailey kicked better injured

Before injury Bailey was 32of 34 from 30yrds to 49yrds This guy is 19 out of 30 thats a lot of missed kicks at normal range in a 2 year span .

If Jerrys magical dream is to come true he needs a kicker pronto . You dont go into the playoffs with a guy this in consistent and expect to not need a crucial kick somewhere along the line.
I dont care if on the second Sunday before the full moon he can kick a 70 yrder we need consistency between 30 and 50 that he dosent come close to having if any playoff success is expected

To be fair, he is attempting more long ones than most. Several team won't even have their kicker attempt a 48 yarder, let alone >50. Teds to bring your % down some.

From 40 and in he is 14 of 16. And he's 33 for 33 on PATs.

But yes, he's been awful from 41-49 though.
Not playoff caliber for sure...

Special teams as a whole have hurt us all year. Kicker has done his part and it’s too the point anyone could be as good as he is
But one thing that has hurt all year is no return yards leaving longer fields. Giving up big yards which means defending shorter fields.
If any one thing was the biggest impact in NE game it was the blocked punt
