I'm gonna get roasted for this, but Cooper is a great 2nd. A primary receiver needs to be big bodied and tall for the 50/50 jump balls. The second needs to be fast and a great route runner.

Bye Jones. Cooper is our best player. It was Zeke, but now it’s Coop.
Jones is a good CB who could be elite if he got INT
Since he doesn’t he’s not worth the elite money
So if he signed for the right price, sure
But he seems primed to be over paid
Cooper is an elite receiver who we’ve invested a top pick in so seems like an easy decision to me
I’d love both but jones isn’t worth elite CB money without the takeaways

If you let Cooper walk and draft a rookie wr in round one, you basically spent 2 first rounders on Whoever you draft....won’t happen.

Doesn’t matter who the coach is, you have to sign Dak and Cooper and then draft defense in round 1.....unless a blue chip TE is on the board.

We don’t need to use another 1st rd pick if we don’t sign Cooper . Gallup was a 3rd rd pick.

So "all I'd have" is a top 5 offensive line, top 5 running back, top 5 quarterback, and top 5 receiver?

I guess I'd live with it...
This team does not have a top 5 offensive line, or a top 5 QB. Garbage stats mean nothing. Don't let the media sway your opinion. This team has some talent but it is nowhere near the top anything. There are a few pieces to the puzzle that are missing.

For one this organization needs to understand the word "speed". Dallas always claim they have speed but they don't really have speed no where in their wide receiver corps. You wanna know what speed looks like? Watch the Chiefs,49ers and some other teams. Like still playing Witten. He catches it and just goes down:facepalm: I could out run Witten right now sitting on the couch. Again? I ask "why"

Cooper is critical for this offense. There's no doubt he can run routes, if he's not getting the ball and the offense is stalling it's the QB and/or scheme. Only two positions away from the offense being the most complete in the league. Defense, they just need to use all but one pick on defense.

The media isn't swaying my opinion, the actual numbers are. Some of the stats might be "garbage time", but that still puts them in the top five. Don't let your opinions overrule the facts either.

Garbage time stats don't win ball games. When stats matter is when teams actually win games against both crappy teams, and good teams. This team only wins games against most crappy teams and has lost all of it's games against good teams. That tells me they're not a top tier anything. What is on paper doesn't always translate to what shows up on the field on Sundays. This team is a perfect example of that.

And a great offense can't win when the defense can't stop anybody. This team is a perfect example of that. They just gave up 31 points to one of the league's worst offense's. And allowed a crappy quarterback to have a record-setting game. They're the ones you need to worry about.

Witten has never been fast, yet he is like 2nd alltime TE Rec in NFL. what is the point there?

Jerry is not going to want to get slammed for wasting a first round pick. He'll keep Cooper no matter what.

We supposedly have these now, so why do we suck so bad against good defenses until the 4th quarter?

I'd place the lion's share of blame on coaching. The players have proven themselves numerous times and received the accompanying accolades like Pro Bowl nominations. The rest of the league sees the talent. Most coaches that Dallas had wouldn't even get jobs elsewhere, unless it was a demotion. The few decent coaches the Cowboys have acquired over the years, somehow can't coexist with Garrett, I wonder why that is?

Im drafting Ceedee in the first and letting Coop walk. I wouldnt pay a guy $20m a year for 8 games. I use that money on the defensive side of the ball.

so a guy like a Steve Smith (5'9) or even an Antonio Brown (5'10) would never be an ideal primary featured receiver ? o_O
