Do people realize he just got a big contract? There’s no way in hell he’s going to go.

Yes... culture ultimately is the coaches’ responsibility.

But effort, hard work, professional pride in their performance— that is intrinsic and certainly can be taught as a value— but leaning into it and living it out is up to the player

Jaylon changed the minute he got paid. That is on him. Regardless of what coaches do or do not do— he needs to do his job and play with physicality and ferocity

Think about Ray Lewis. Would he EVER do anything that Jaylon does on or off the field? How Jaylon approaches the game and plays the game is on him

Not sure that Ray Lewis was the best example but I get what you're saying. I'd rather go the Brian Urlacher route seeing that he was never accused of murder, acquitted or not. :p

These are just signs that the team has given up on the coaches. Its not only happening on defense, but offense as well.

If they coaches don't care about winning why should they?

Obviously, Garrett didn't prepare his team for the Eagles. That's why we lost.

We can blame the players all we want. But nothing is going to change unless the changes come from the top down.

You been watching Chido?

Someone posted the pff grades of QB's vs each of our CB's a few weeks ago in another thread. And if you watch the games you'll see he is in position but just a little short to affect the play just like yesterday.

It is bewildering to me... Jaylon was a consensus top 5 pick if he was healthy

He was touted as this instinctual, athletic freak of a LBer. His second year with Dallas he was making plays all over the field with LVE.

This year? It’s like he has turned into a soft, selfish, fundamentally unsound player that seems to care more about his businesses and brands off the field

Most disappointing player in 2019 for me.

I feel like had he not suffered the knee injury, and actually was a top 5 pick, he would have been a bust. It's not just his lack of lateral mobility which is due to the drop foot, it's his taking dumb holes wildly and completely missing the play, no feel for the game (zero picks), and fake personality which is more of looks rather than production. I mean, being a top 5 pick isn't a sure thing. Other LBs picked that high don't pan out. Jaylon just would have been another.

Be "proud" of the defense all you like, but this is not a championship caliber defense. It's just not that good.

The D-Line is capable of making some athletic speed plays, but they do not consistently control the line of scrimmage. The LB group is thin, and subjected to far too much pressure as a result of the weakness of the D-Line. The secondary is good, but not great, and lacks dynamic playmakers. This all adds up to a defense that is ultimately lacking.

I’ll preface this by saying the offense was at fault for the loss last night.

But I am sick and tired of a defense that doesn’t get turnovers. Sick and tired of it.

I couldn’t care less about their “effort” last night. They were playing a practice squad offense. They should
Have held them to that many points.

they also should have gotten more sacks and a turnover or two.

I had high expectations for this defense, but... this team is useless on both sides of the ball.

4 takeaways in our 8 losses this season.
In 9 years of Garrett as HC we are 28th in takeaways and 32nd in INTs.

agreed. They coach the DB’s to let the receiver catch the ball and just make the tackle. It’s disgusting.
What kind of coaching is that. Let the receiver catch the ball then tackle him. Isn't it a fundamental premise of a defensive player to not allow the movement of the ball?

What else do the coaches say. Let them score a touchdown so we can block the extra point. Wow!!!

And it isn't like the defense hasn't caused the team to lose in other games. Both offense and defense have sucked at times this year.

Wentz was 31/40 for 320 and no turnovers. The defense sucked. The eagles offense is down to practice squad players at the skill positions and they still carved them up. Ertz missed half the game as well. Yes they only have up 17 but against that depleted team u should be forcing three and outs throughout the game.

Thank you. The defense was playing against an offense that had one hand tied behind its back due to countless injuries. Wentz threw the ball at will facing very little pressure. Nearly 450 total yards given up. No forced turnovers. No forced 3 & outs. Philly was able to change the field position on each and every drive. Playing with the lead, that was key for them.

Well that's cuz they tell the DB to let them catch the ball and then tackle them. I wonder if they tell the dline to let them get a first down and then tackle them. But anyway back the interceptions. With the coaching they have the only way they'll get a interception is if the receiver catches it and hands it to them.

I don’t think he has to go now that he has paid. We are now forced to get decent DT’s knowing he is ineffective without DT’s that keep him clean.

....I didn't have a clue on the hype for the guy. Most peeps said, "wait till Jaylon gets on the field, he's going to take over games". Making my assumption from that was, dang, this guy is the next Lawrence Taylor.

..so yeah, Fake hustle is about right... lol..
