we're not moving on from Dak nor should we.
get him a HC and staff who know what the hell they're doing and will have this team prepared...instead of asking him to be Jamelle Holieway on 3rd and 2.

I wonder if he is more hurt than we realize and they were using him as a decoy and he knew it resulting in his looking like he’s not interested

Also don’t recall many deep balls to him lately. Those seemed to go to Gallup and could be a sign that his running was limited.

he was quoted as stating certain routes were open but not thrown
Agree. It's so hard to for sure about any of this mess from the outside. Who knows what is going on with this team.

Burrow is the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck.

Riley would consider that.

I don't think Riley wants anything to do with Dak, who doesn't have the talent to run his offense.
Mayfield and Hirds did and they will mever be as good as Dak is now!

They aren’t moving on from Dak
Getting a QB is very hard and Dak is better than most of the QB’s in the league
We need to build a defense and trading away your entire draft to get a “maybe” makes that impossible

The problem is everyone is brainwashed believing we need to pass to win. Didn't the Rams game show you otherwise. Putting most of your salary cap into Dak is only going hold back this team.

I actually think you could be bold and trade with the Bengals to get Burrows. Dalton is actually not that bad.. in fact I think they have much bigger issues than QB. I think you could possibly put together a deal and get it done.

Alternatively.. I wouldn't mind bringing Dalton in.. I actually think he could be a great bus driver for our offence.

If you can’t pass then you can’t run
The key to sticking to the run is converting 3rd downs
You have to have a good passing game to open up the run game
No team can run with a loaded box

Franchise Dak and draft a quarterback high. Really really high if one you like is there.

Makes the negotiations much smoother or you may choose to move on regardless. You still retain value and can trade quarterback away if your scouting was spot on.

The QB position.. It can and needs to be played much better one way or the other.

What coach is going to want to give away Dak in favor of an unknown reach at QB? You’re not getting a top 5 pick.

As long as it’s the new coach’s decision to keep Dak and not Jerry’s. No respectable coach will take the job if Jerry starts making personnel decisions before hiring the next coach.

The Cowboys need to bring in a whole new coaching staff ASAP. so we can get one leg up in changing this team for the better.

Move on from Dak - not worth the money that he will demand. Either move up in the draft and get your new quarterback or find a FA QB while still drafting a QB to develop. We paid Zeke which is still young and still in his prime. Do what we need to make the OL better.

The new coach and OC will need to build the passing game around the new QB strengths if that means short, quick passes/reads and screens, so be it. For the defense invest in DT's and safeties in the off-season.

The money saved from DAK we can fix all these problems we have and still be able to keep building this team. Paying DAK we are just going to waste the careers of existing players we have now instead of adding others to make them better.

Did you steal this analysis from a trashy Philly fan twitter page?

I have no problem keeping Dak and seeing what a new coach can do for him. Shouldn't pay the moon for him though. I'm just unsure of him right now.

Most people are realist
If you decide to move on from Dak that means most of this and your next draft go to moving up and getting a QB
And the number of QB’s who actually work out is not very high
That means no improving the D which is a big part of the problem
Dak is not elite but the odds of getting a elite QB is pretty low. Every year teams try to get that elite QB and more times than not they miss

And if the defense isn't fixed nothing will change. The Romo years proved that.

The simple fix that helps a ton is special teams
The defense is harder because the bust rate on Dline is pretty high
At the middle of the first I think we have a great shot at a CB or safety who could help this team
But you need guys who live the game and refuse to lose

Most people are also average and stuff like this shows why. It don't take that much to move up unless you're moving to the top pick. Allegedly this is a QB draft so that's not necessary if the "draft gurus" are correct. I'm not scarred of things not working out though. That's average people talk. Sometimes you're going to lose when trying something different that's life. If we pay Dak we aren't going to be able to improve the D so whats your point? Dak is average and as an average QB those aren't hard to find as the elite ones y'all like to use as the reason not to get rid of Smith Jr. Since that's the case I'm all for trying to improve the QB position even if it fails because Dak isn't good enough to stay the same IMO. If you disagree that's ok too. We all see things differently.

The Cowboys WILL be getting a new coaching staff.

The Cowboys WON'T be moving on from Dak.

Dak is not getting a long term deal that would be handcuffing the new coaching staff. Dallas is better off drafting a QB in the first round and signing someone like Phillipe Rivers as a bridge who's an unrestricted free agent.

This is what 2-14 or 3-13 w/l record look like in their glorious infancy stages. Always sounds promising

Sorry you know Jerry is going to tell whoever the new HC coach that Dak has to be their guy.
Bingo you are correct not sure why many do not believe this. Number one requirement for new HC is taking Dak for 5 more years, the new HC will be another yes man who’s main concern will be grabbing the money and saying yes mr. Jones because that is the way it is set up in Dallas. For the next five or so years it will be just more mediocracy and Dak saying he’s working hard to get better, and game after game people making excuses for him. Jerry saying the team is a championship ready team every training camp and get ready for a magical season, just plain disgusting.
