His name I like better than the retreads like Fisher, Gailey, Norv etc. He's not my first pick but would definitely be someone who values hard nosed ball by our Oline. Also, our line might make him drool to take the job. And his NO connection might give us someone on their defensive staff that isn't a Rod or Kiffin style retread.

He’s a nobody just like the guy we’re getting rid of. Another Gailey. Another Campo.

The big names haven't really worked out much lately have they? In the end the same small handful of guys are in the playoffs seemingly every year.

Belichick, Payton, Reid, harbaugh, Tomlin.

Honestly who are even the big names anymore? The blueprint that Buffalo is using could work here. Campbell would be perfectly capable of doing something similar. he would have to put together a killer staff and i think he could.

Campbell isn't an exciting idea but he would be a fiery coach. None of this clap clap crap. Experience under Parcells and Payton. Type of guy that is due but I would be surprised if Jerruh went for someone that doesn't excite the fan base.

Heard his name on two radio stations today, most notably from Jean- Jaques Taylor. Anything to this?

Parcells guy.

Six years as run coordinator for Sean Payton.

Was interim head coach in Miami.

Former Cowboy.

Former Aggie.

Probably fairly cheap.

Very Jerry-like hire. Similar to Garrett.
Campbell is titled as the assistant head coach and TEs coach. Maybe people's memories are bad but from what I remember of him I can't see him being anyone's puppet as he's more likely to punch them in the mouth. I'd much rather it be him than the next college coach to fail miserably on this level!

Dan Campbell sort of reminds me of Bill Cowher

For those who want Campbell. Here is his intro PC when he was announced interim head coach at Miami.

Sounds like what we need here.

During his first news conference as an interim head coach last week, Campbell promised a tougher Miami Dolphins team after the bye week. In just a five-day span, he reshuffled the offensive staff, fired the defensive coordinator and took his first full-padded practice as an opportunity to run the Oklahoma Drill and ram his players together for the heck of it -- a far cry from the cozier confines of most collective bargaining agreement-era practices."

The best teams I've been a part of -- during the week they go after each other," Campbell said. "It's heated, it's intense. You can't just turn it on on Sunday.

"I don't care if it's Ndamukong Suh, Koa Misi, Jarvis Landry -- they have to be pushed, they have to be worked, they have to be challenged. That's the first thing I'm going to change. I want them all to compete."

Here is a PC years later with New Orleans. Good stuff,

Campbell is as attractive as the coaches he could bring in tow.

Perhaps he could bring along LSU's Joe Brady, who was on the Saints' staff with him in 2017.

That would instantly be a huge feather in Campbell's cap.
Too bad he can't bring burrows with him.

Campbell would be a horrible hire and another guy that gives us no edge on game day.

I’m all for Campbell. Definitely would rather have him instead of Matt Rhule. And if Witten wants to get into coaching he could be mentored again by Campbell as he was as a player. Only as a TE coach.
