Those duties were already stripped from him because he sucked at it and they could never score in the redzone. In fact, every duty he was initially tasked with when hired was systematically stripped from him because he proved incompetent. He basically became the equivalent of Jerry’s son walking around clapping and telling everyone “atta boy”. There’s nothing left to strip from him except the job itself.

Arguably, Garrett might have a case for another "let me prove it my way" year deal.

What say you?

And for those of you wondering who would be the next guy Garrett would throw on the chopping block to protect his scalp, (After Wade, Romo, Dez, Linehan, etc), it appears it's going to be Kellen Moore.

Congratulations Kellen, as a parting gift you'll get an insincere speech from Jason Garrett about how it was a "pleasure" to work with you and how you are wished the best moving forward. Something about "fight" and "class" and "Integrity", something about knowing you'll achieve great heights in whatever you put your hand to next, etc etc.

if I was Brill, I'd have a food taster on duty 24/7 at my house. There is no limit to the carnage that surrounds JG if he feels like his position is threatened.

Even if this report is true, which I'm not at all convinced it is ....

Being denied play calling duties is not a legitimate argument for him returning. He had play calling duties and the team failed then, and in fact, the offense improved when he lost play calling duties. Granting him another year so he could call plays would be simply dropping the team back into the situation that existed in 2012

1. The owner should let the coach coach the team
2. The owner reserves the right to fire the coach should they not like how they coach the team

Garrett is not the right coach for this team just as all the other coaching hires and fires weren't. Parcells was the only guy who could stand up for himself.

Nobody can win with JJ pulling strings.

Haha I knew this was going to be a talking point when Jerry bizarrely mentioned coaching decisions he made.

Whatever any of us may think, there is always a "case" as long as the ultimate arbiter of the issue continues to listen. Having taken three meetings, Jerry apparently is...for the time being.

But how does a HC "lose play calling duties?" Like, if the higher-ups are better at coaching the team than the HC, fire the HC.

Instantly fires Landry. Has no patience for Jimmy stealing the spotlight and fires him after back to back super bowls. Agonizes for days over a coach with an average record. Makes perfect sense to me.

Yeah lets demote him to OC because he was so good there even Jerry had to take playcalling away from him

This Franchise is a mess. I begin to think Jason will be here until he retires in 30 years.
