It both bothers and concerns me that anyone would even listen to anything Garrett would say at this point. After ten failed years, there's nothing left to talk about. He's had far more chances than any coach deserves.

Goodbye.

I find it ironic that fans are *****ing and moaning that Jerry suddenly became a mute this week. Only, last week fans are *****ing and moaning that he was talking too much to the media. As long, as, he has the media and fans caring about the team 24/7, unfortunately nothing will change within this organization. Only when apathy set in within the fan base then real change will happen.
Then it will revert back once improvements happen and the fan base becomes

This played out a bit with Parcells

ESPN wouldn’t have long segments on Garrett being gone if it wasn’t true.

Garrett is gone. We don’t need Jerry or Stephen to officially tell the world right now.

Think about the huge credibility hit to espn if this weren’t accurate.
ESPN and Credibility do not belong in the same sentence together, although they have tried to change.

"NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys aren't expected to make a decision on Jason Garrett until at least Monday.
Garrett should remain in Dallas through the weekend. The Cowboys have been expected to move on from Garrett, but they continue to drag the process out. Dallas will be behind the rest of the league if the ultimately part ways with Garrett, with most teams already hosting multiple interviews. Getting fired this late in the postseason would also hurt Garrett's chances of landing a retread job."

Sorry but this whole thing has been nothing but a cluster flub and makes the Cowboys look like they are running a damn chinese fire drill.

If another team truly wants Garrett they know it’s over in Dallas. They can wait until Jan 14th if necessary.

What’s sad is the fans and media are like Vultures or Trolls swirling around waiting to feast on the official news.

Most of us know it’s over and this is all about Jerry not wanting to fire him simply waiting for his contract to expire.

I don't see why some see a conflict with Werder's reporting and there being no announcement.

They've (thankfully) decided internally that Jason won't be back in any capacity, but Jerry is so heartbroken and "respectful" he doesn't want to announce it yet. Jason is whistling past the graveyard and carrying on as usual, hoping he can talk Jerry into keeping him. Stephen or somebody very close to him is probably the one who let Werder know.

I do understand wanting the stake to be officially put in Garrett's heart, because the guy keeps coming back from dead like the villain in a bad horror movie. But I think he's a goner.

A multi-billion dollar franchise, run like a 'family business'.

Congratulations Jerry. If your goal was to put Dysfunction Junction on full display for the world to see, you've done a great job.

The concern amongst most fans is that they simply do not trust Jerry Jones. Jason Garrett has been the HC for near 10 years and failed to deliver a Championship. His time is way past due to be let go but without an official announcement of such the fans, me included, are concerned that Jerry will simply give Garrett a 2-year extension and Dallas will continue to look like buffoons.

I won't rest until it's official. If they're willing to listen to anything Garrett has to say at this point, it tells me that there's still a chance that he could return. Like a Halloween horror film, Jason keeps returning, over and over, and over again.

Big time risk they are taking. If JG is gone it may be that JG asked to complete his contract and out of respect JJ allowed him to. Honorable on both sides. Especially if his replacement is in the loop. They won’t tell the staff because of leaks. They are the ones getting screwed, if he is gone the 14th the staff lost time that could be used looking for other work but if you think about it JG told them they are welcome to look for other work. Not what you tell staff that you want to retain. Hmmm.

Apparently most of the staff has already been told to seek employment elsewhere. I don't know how accurate it is, but it was reported Monday and from NFL.com

https://cowboyszone.com/threads/cow...contracts-told-to-seek-work-elsewhere.450059/

But it's not like anyone is breaking down doors to interview them for new positions.

Yea, everyone I’m close to considers this to be over.

Owner Jones is on vacation in Aspen now and Jason’s contract runs out on Jan 14th. Cowboys are moving on without him. Jerry needs time to get over losing his perfect puppet. Lol

And Jerry’s not in a hurry to name a new HC as his candidate is either already locked up or still in playoffs.

It's disgraceful is what it is. Pathetic and sad. Is Garrett down on his knees begging, pleading, and crying at this point?

Call security. Have him removed.

Yup! And I agree with your earlier post about why are they listening to him. Seriously. Why is he even being able to grovel? It's pathetic that he doesn't want to be gone. He basically is saying he can't get employment.

If the Eagles manage to advance in the playoffs tomorrow. Then it's going to make Jerry look even more foolish. As the Eagles will be an example of what happens when teams are willing to move on from coaches that are holding their franchise back. Why Jerry still struggles with letting Garrett go.

Is he still in Aspen? Jane Slater said on Thursday he was back in Dallas.
