Is Bill Bellichick the guy Jerry wants?

Having not made a call yet on Garrett the clapper tells me the coach/guy he wants is still coaching and the rumors on a few other message boards is that JJ is heavily invested in Bill Bellichick but as we all know his Pats are playing in the WC games this weekend.

Whether or not it happens is anyones guess but i would be surprised if JJ goes the untried route/or collegiate level coach with the current roster we have. Jones and Bellichick go back a fair way and by no means are strangers at all and when BB was leaving the Browns in 1995 he approached JJ for a job as his first port of call but JJ had already committed to Switzer after his SB triumph from memory and then BB went to the Pats and the rest is history.

Now this is by no means fact that he is chasing BB but stranger things have happened before and nearly everyone knows the Pats are not winning another SB anytime soon with old man Brady getting older every day.

Lots to play out here regarding our next coach IMO and watch this space. ;)

ANYONE that writes and article or tweets this is doing it just to get people to click on that story to boost their own paycheck. Nobody with an ounce of brains believes it. First off belicheat is the patriots GM also and Jones is never going to give that up. Second the only place belicheat is going when done with the patriots is retiring. He has no desire in taking over another team and the possibility of marring his record. He'll be happy to wait the 5 years to get his gold jacket.

Um, so yeah, what is all this Belichick talk? I thought it was a joke, but some are serious?

I'd love to know what "other message board" this is that's touting this.

Jerry only sees the options as:
1. Garrett
2. Not Garrett

If it's not Garrett, Jerry does not really care.

Jerry: Stephen, Jason is leaving...you pick one of them other fellers...just be sure to tell the media it was my idea...you can prep me before I go on camera to make sure I've got the new guys name correct and where he last coached...

Stephen: OK Dad.

Jerry: I'll be on the Yacht hanging out with Jason...call me when the new guy has signed a contract...I'll private-jet & copter back to get in front of the cameras...you know the drill...

The media does not know if Belichick is under contract with the Pats after this season or any season...

I want one of these scared reporters to ask Jerry, “If Belichick was interested in coaching here, he would undoubtedly bring several Super Bowls. Would you be willing to give up majority of control to him, including the general manager role?’’ I’m pretty sure Jerry, with his inflated ego, would say no.

of course! he’s the greatest coach in the history of the nfl and i’d love to hear jerry’s sales pitch on that one. why the heck would belichick want to deal with jerry and the aggravation of this job at this point in his life and career?

“Well, uh, I, uh, — it is impossible to fire yourself.”

Even if he could/did get Bellycheck, can you IMAGINE the culture shock for some of these players? Lawrence? Smith?
Lawrence can pound sand for all I care - somewhere else even. I think Smith would change back to his original work ethic.
Some players here have taken on the persona of the owner - sign of a weak leader (Garrett.)

Well uh... ya see, uh. The nature of the game is of that an ego. I like to compare it to having two hands of jello. Ya see, uh. Uh. Uhhhhh. Bill Belichick here would certainly be nice, uhh. But uhhh... ya see, uuhhh. The thing is, uhhhh. At the end of the day, we would all like to win superbowls, but uhhh. I don’t see how that’d be possible.... uh, uh, with uhh, so much change. A HC can, uh, well, change a lot, uh. I know my rights and I know I am right. You can’t fire yourself, so uhh. We like our guys. That is all I will say on this matter.”

Get Billy boy and Brady. Let Dak go. Franchise Cooper. Focus all other resources on D (draft and free agency) other than getting a tight end - maybe even get Gronk come out retirement.

Agreed but I’d draft Herbert in the first round, let Brady be a backup and a coach to Herbert. Herbert, Belichick at a HC, Riley as OC, a good DC (don’t know many), a newly drafted defense, with Zeke, Amari, Gallup, etc. we’re going to be dangerous.

Bellichick's press conference was a joke. He refused to give any credit the Henry, who ran all over them. Bellichick is done, all his assistants are gone, Brady is an old man, the Patriots are finally done. Halleluiah.

Would he be good for Dallas? I think he is lost now, so no.

You mean they will be disciplined for the first time ever and be made responsible to sticking with schemes and structures?

Yeah i will like that aspect of a decent HC that knows what he is doing.

yeah, we’d probably have several mutinies!
