No one played well in those games.
and thats the difference. The HOF QB lifts the team up when the team needs them the most. A HOF type qb doesnt stink it up with the team.

Hey, it can happen, nobody wins all the time, but I just have seen enough of avg dak to say he is SLIGHTLY above avg. He is in that 8-14 type range. Nothing wrong with that, but 8-14 range aint worth 35 million per season IMO.

Can we see what he does with a coaching staff that is actually trying to out gameplan the other team

I’m not missing the point, he made a bad point. The Jags are already convinced Foles isn’t the answer. He ended up getting benched for a rookie 6th round pick.
lol.......... you still are missing the FACT, and the FACT is that the guys he listed have wona SB, that by itself means they WERE GOOD ENOUGH, and that is something that is not debateable, and THAT was his point.

This is great. Collin hit it on the head. He says that half the teams in the league are trying to convince themselves that their QB is good enough. The bears...... yep. Remember the chiefs with Smith? The would say he is good enough... and as Colin said... no he isnt.

And here we are trying to convince ourselves Dak is good enough. Did you watch Mahomes? Sad part is what else do you do?

Well, I guess 30 teams or so should just cease to exist until the next Mahommes comes out.

Do you think the Chargers would like a do over on Drew Brees or the Falcons with Favre?

oh... well, our OC remains the same, so if we werent trying to outgame plan anyone, what makes you think Moore will in fact try to outgame plan people next season?

Who said Dak is a HOF QB? Any QB would have had a problem with the team we had this past season. Lousy coaching, a lousy defense and an inconsistent running game.

Stop defending what another poster said and let him talk for himself. lol Winning a Super Bowl doesn’t mean you’re good enough. Do you think

Moore is under a new system i highly doubt he allows moore to run it up the gut when its stacked in the middle all the time

if so MM and everyone he bought in along with Moore can hit the road

Well, to be honest Garrapolo was good enough with 10 passes thrown. Tannehill won last weekend with under 100 yards.

The issue with Dak is that your QB should not takle up 20% of your cap if he is not the guy like Mahomes. We could win a Superbowl with Dak if he is paid like he is today or even 10-15 million.

There are really only a select few that their teams can afford to pay like that and still be successful.

Dak is not that and our team will suffer if they pony up 35 mill - he can't sustain that!

Did you read all of these posts? Did you look at the list of the previos SB winning teams since 2000 that I put up? Did you see the one thing in common that the non HOF SB winning qbs such as Dilfer and Johnson had? They had the same thing in common that Jimmy G has... a GREAT DEFENSE. Point is you better have a great defense or a great qb. Its pretty much one or the other for about 95% of the teams that win a SB. Only the Giants and Iggles buckes that trend.

Not about to waste my time with your posts. A great QB isn’t going to overcome a lousy defense and an inconsistent running game. Ask Dan Marino.

thats a great question. I dont have an answer... how about they are about equally as hard? If it were easy to build that great defense, every team in the league that doesnt have that elite qb would say.. hey, lets just build a great defense.... yet we dont see great defenses very often.

The thing about the great QB is that at least when you hit with one, you have him for 12 years or so. The great defense is dont with 3-4 years. Look at Seattle.
When you look at the list that I just provided.... the teams on that list with the great defense only made the SB that one time. The team with the great qb is usually on my list multiple times. That list is the same QBs over and over for the most part. I didnt even put the SB LOSER on that list. I suspect it is full of those same QBs...
Great defenses are harder than ever to build, since the rules now tend to favor the offense

Completely agree except.. I think Dak is good enough if the roster around him can carry him. He just doesn't enhance the talent around him.
I agree with this.

Dak is a good quarterback. He's good enough to win us a Super Bowl with a team around him.

But if he's making $40 million a year? Good luck getting a team around him.

Agree, the goal is to achieve balance. The Niners are the most balanced team to make the playoffs.

When the Cowboys were at their best in the 70's and 90's, they were balanced. Today's team is top heavy on O. They've been seeking great on the O and good enough on the D and haven't even done that well on the D side.

Never has there been a dynasty built around a good enough qb. All nfl dynasties have a hall of fame qb

Dynasties like cowboys, 49ers,Patriots ect
Yep, that's true. Rams made it to the Super Bowl last year on scheme. 49ers are getting there by scheme this year as well, and a good defense. The NFL will come around and bring them back to earth next year. Garrapolo will have to earn that big contract for them to get there again.

How good is the chiefs running game if you remove all of Mahomes scrambling yards? How good is that Chiefs defense? Looks like Mahomes overcomes both pretty well.
