I hope so. Both looked really bad last year

Garrett was a dead man walking most of last season, the team knew this. Garrett was coaching out of desperation to save his job, the atmosphere was not only frantic but ailing. The 2019 Dallas Cowboys were engulfed in a fight to stay relevant with coaches that were sabotaging each other and an owner whom was trying to save face. All of this has been abolished with the firing of Jason Howdy Doody Garrett. Give our linebackers the gift of time working in a much healthier and nurturing environment.

Get them some big DTs and quality safety behind them and they will be fine
I agree we need to upgrade our DT's, but I don't think what we witnessed with Jaylon and Van plus the entire defense wasn't on the players.
I think it's hard to perform when you have Marinelli and Richards calling different style defenses and experimenting like they did. There was
major dysfunction to deal with for the players on the defensive side of the ball. Also, not example of leadership either coming from our head coach
because everything had spun completely out of control.

Statistics don't always tell the whole story. Dak's season was statistically great, but he looked bad in big games or when the game was on the line.

When will you guys whom throw a blanket statement out there that Dak looked bad in big games need to show some sense. Dak killed it against the Eagles which was a big game the first go around and also whipped up the ram's pretty bad... You have to remember, Dak was working with an offense that had a head coach trying to save his job whom fancies himself as an offensive guru in which he is not. Also, keep in mind that Dak has already proven he can play well in big games, just because he didn't fare great in a few games last year the brakes should be pumped somewhat based on the overall picture.

Let me ask you a question, do you realize the Patriots won the super bowl last year with Brady doing absolutely nothing but sucking? Do you also realize that Drew Brees has lost TONS of huge games in his tenure?

What are Cowboys getting by bringing back linebackers coach George Edwards?

The Dallas Cowboys are bringing in a familiar name to coach their young, talented linebacking corp with the hiring of George Edwards away from the Minnesota Vikings

Jaylon smith is soft he will never square up a running back and hit him straight on. I do not care who is the coach smith will not be any better then he is right now.

He was better in 2018. So what makes you think he can't be that good again?

Why can the OP not say the man's name right? It's not Vander, it's Vander Esch. It's not that hard. Just call him LVE if you can't do it right.

As for George Edwards, I see nothing in the LB group he just left that tells me he can improve our LB group. Sean Lee would have been a better hire as the LB's coach. McCarthy doesn't believe a player can go straight into coaching as the head of a department so he gives us a retread like Edwards. It's a bad hire, one of many bad hires that McCarthy has made. This team may be going in a new direction but it's moving no closer to a Super Bowl run. Mark my words.
