Every once in a while I see an Aggie game on TBS and always wondered if those soldier boys are real or pretend soldiers. Do they get automatic commisions in the US Army?

This coming from a guy with a mountie in his avatar :lmao:

And calling Aggies "pretend" soldiers is a bit silly, since they've sent more "real" soldiers off to war than Army, Navy, and Air Force combined

CanadianCowboysFan, you appear to be a great fan and you live in an awesome country. Canadians on the whole are good and generous people and most of them are well educated. Sad to see some posters in this forum have no class or intelligence and can't respect fans different than them especially if they have an opposing opinion.

It makes me feel proud when people outside our country embrace the Dallas Cowboys and the sport of football. I don't care who you are, where you come from, what you do, what you look like, you are a brother or sister of the Star.

International fans add value to this board and forums in general.

Is it me, or does this post just reek of overcompensation?

I don't think anybody is really prejudiced against Canadian people, CowboyEd.

At least not the "well educated" ones that make up "most" of the Canadian population. (that you so gracefully pointed out).......and I'm sure they are grateful to be able to, in your highly regarded opinion, "add value" to our forums.

Canadian fans aren't "different" from us or any other human being for that matter. They simply live in a geographical location that is farther north. That doesn't make them some kind of alien life form. This is a basic prejudicial idea that must be ERASED.

In your attempt to reach out to our northern neighbors, you have belittled and insulted them. Back to the politically correct drawing board for you!

I never said it was, nice blimp attempt though. I said A&M has produced more service men and women than all the service acadamies combined, which is fact. A&M has also produced more generals in the armed forces than all the service academies combined.

And of course, there's always the famous quote from General George S. Patton to seal the deal:

“Give me an army of West Point graduates and I'll win a battle. Give me a handful of Texas Aggies, and I'll win the war.”

People love to scoff at A&M's "fake" army when in fact it is more real, historically, than any of the service academies

It's not popular to come here and speak the ugly truth, but it's the truth nonetheless.

My favorite quote ever from Patton.....

No poor dumb b@stard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb b@stards die for their country."

Nice twist, Jay-D but that is splitting twisted hairs. How did I belittle and insult them? By expressing my disdain for stereotypical comments? I get it, by pointing out that folks are no different and comparatively generalizing that our northern neighbor does have good and educated people in effect, I have belittled them. Whatever...

It's quite simple, I responded to the typical classless banter when someone foreign gets put in his place, for providing a football opinion in a forum. I could care less if people vigorously responded to any international fan of football - in football terms. But to mock and stereotypically discount someone (i.e., why don't you go watch a hockey game) from another country just because their perception or opinion about football or the team differs.

What an uproar there would be in this forum if someone stereotypically commented to a citizen who was a minority or of different ethnicity. I don't think you would be so quick to comment about a forum member generating overcompensating verbage, if that were the case.

Whether you view my comments over the top, misguided or over-compensatory you conveniently ignore the putdown remarks that are not football opinion related. I don't necessarily believe those comments make the person prejudicial either but the remarks are certainly derisive.

While we are on another comment bending track, it is my opinion international Dallas Cowboys fans add value to this community or forum and most certainly I don't expect any foreign fan, Canadian or otherwise to be grateful, or to exhibit gratefulness.
