Back up you need a back up Dak is in year 11 with injuries in the not too distant past . I said repeatedly if you have a prospect you like round 2 or 3 next season by all means bring him in .

Howell has played in real game games in the NFL and played well. Milton has been good for two weeks in preseason games.

Doesn’t even seem like Romo’s body was even gonna hold up for a playoff run.

Dallas should draft a QB within the first three rounds every few years. Churn, churn and churn. They might find a potential future starter and/or trade for capital.

I think as a head coach you have to know when to go back or stick with the hot hand. From what I read the locker room was behind Dak. Dak played the locker room game it’s funny I just heard this story today about how Dak introduced himself to everyone from coaches to players to stadium workers. To some it might’ve been corny but he played the game. Mind you at the time I think he was 3rd string.

As opposed to Jaylon and Kelvin Joseph? It’s a gamble but QB is the most important position. Dallas likes to take risks in the 2nd round, just get a QB there every so often.

Good point. I mean when your 2nd rounders are Jaylon, Kelvin, Schoon, Hill, and Sam Williams then what’s the risk of taking a QB in round 2. The only good round 2 pick I can think of off the top of my head without googling was Diggs.

I’d be perfectly happy risking a Sam Williams or a Schoonmaker for a gamble on a QB.

Just stop......Howell is playing for his fourth team for a reason. One season, he played 17 games ........21 INT, sacked 65 times, and had a 43.2 QBR. He's not that good and the league knows it. Your hate for Milton is weird..........get used to him, coz IMO, he has already won the QB backup job. Howell did just what he was signed to do......push Milton.

He was sliding in terms of the defender in front, he never saw Avril. Poor protection, but in a preseason game, if there's pressure you cannot escape, you have to throw it away and live to play another series.
There's a handful of QBs throughout the NFL that hold on too long to stretch a play. This one was painful to see after all of the underdog seasons Romo had.

When you’re usually drafting 15 and on down round one the Mendoza Caleb Williams types are gone . You might find a gem possibly round 2 though .

Since we are talking about 3+ decades of refusing to draft a QB in the first round, I don't think you're argument holds up. And it's the most important position on the field.

He played well, but preseason doesn't translate to regular season whatsoever.

Remember Duece Vaughn? Clint Stoerner? Woody Dantzler? Adrian Hamilton? Reggie Collier?

Yes, I would keep him, but slow the roll.

I'm certainly not proclaiming him a finished product, but I 100% believe he's done everything you could ask for in practice & preseason games. That's how we evaluate every other player. Don't see any reason to treat him differently.

Agree. But if we drafted more consistently every year we could throw some darts. So many wasted picks that created those holes.

No doubt he has, but he's 26, one year older than Howell, and Milton has been absymal in his career until the past two weeks.

Yes, I keep him, but it's comical how so many think he's "arrived" when he's playing against basic defenses and backup nobodies.

Hopefully they will waive whichever QB they feel best about getting through waivers so we can have an emergency QB for games as the rules allow.

You think that's real money? Not a bad investment if it pushes a future potential QB to the next level. My guess is he's going on the PS but there's no chance of Milton getting cut or moved to the PS.
