Dallas would be looking at a revamped starting defensive line of Lawrence-Brent-Crawford-Houston, with Mincey and Spencer rotating at DE and the second three-technique. The linebackers would be Lee-McClain-Hitchens-Durant while the secondary would be Scandrick-Claiborne-McCourty-Wilcox with Church and Patmon being the primary backups. Dallas would have an All-Pro caliber player at every level of their defense and would be looking to augment this with their 2015 draft.
That would be one hell of a start to rebuilding our defense. I approve!

Ummm...has the author heard of the franchise tag? Houston has a zero percent chance of being available.

Also, Dez's contract will be closer to Calvin's than it will Percy's

No way would I give Rolando that deal. Do the Melton option thing. No point risking all that dead money.

Kansas City isn't letting Justin Houston go.

You're looking at $15 - $16 million per to sign Dez Bryant who is probably going to get franchised because he wants $16 - $17 million per.

I didn't get this ////

"In Part Four of the series, we’ll take a look at whether or not such moves would make Dallas too top-heavy for long-term success and viability. In the meantime, Cowboys fans can wave at the notion of 'Cap Hell'... use of thumb, ring, index and pinky fingers are optional."

Sounds good to me of its possible. What is definite is the cap space and the possibility we are are in position to make a run at a title or 3.

thatsalotta dough...can't see that happening...I would LOVE (would have loved) to be a fly on the wall when the FO discusses (discussed) their plan for this off season....I think that they feel they are set at safety, so I can't see anyone getting signed there...a good start to the off season is making a decision on Murray...I don't believe there is any decision to be made on dez (he must get signed), but murray being in dallas or not impacts the rest of the off season

I guess the middle finger is all that's left to wave.

Justin Houston is not a good fit and he's getting a huge deal or getting franchised. Team don't let all-pro players go in their prime.

Poorly written piece.

I just don't see Dallas giving out big contracts. They have shied away from that over the last couple of years and it has worked out fine. I see Dallas continuing the tread of signing mid level FA's.

Thinking Houston and McCourty are let out the door without franchise tags if not new contracts is pretty idiotic

Agreed on both fronts. The easiest way in the NFL to overpay is to pay giant money to play in a system that you've never seen him succeed in. And KC is not going to let a premiere pass rusher walk.
