105.3 the fan! Inside McCarthy's departure

More important, I just read somewhere Brock Purdy getting paid more than Prescott. It was just a matter of time where Prescott’s contract was not going to be the highest.

That whole segment sounded like nothing more than a curation of every public thing that fans know and have known for a long time.

There was no "inside" information, just a lot of speculation and regurgitation of news we have all read and discussed online for the last few years.

The only difference is he is putting more of it on McCarthy now that he is the easy target .. err .. I mean scapegoat.
exactly right. I listened to the segment, and it was like AND so? We already knew these things and he was just vague enough to get clicks and ratings. This was nothing more than filling airtime for HIM. There was no inside scoop . The guy comes off as a Beta male that can't wait to fling mud at someone when they are no longer here. Id honestly hate to work with someone like that. This segment didn't help his reputation.

Everything that was said is true. It’s things we’ve all heard before. Nothing earth shattering. MM has always been labeled as a crap leader and that’s exactly what Belt described him as. People in here trying to pretend like MM is better than he is. He’s not. He’s crap. And that’s been well known.
Speaking for myself only, I certainly know what he said is likely true but I do realize MM wasn't a good leader or the guy we needed. Im a realist. I just hate how he presented this as a tell all. It was disgusting as far how he framed it.

I listened to it at 2X speed and while I was not expecting anything shocking, the whole "just wait until Thursday" message was nothing more than a promotional campaign as he openly admitted at the start of the segement that it was not going to be anything big.

I was thinking maybe we would learn one or two new tidbits of information but even the little things he mentioned that made you think, "Hey, this may be something new" included a lot of qualifying or disclaimer-based wording.

In the end, it sounded like a segment any Cowboys fan could have made by simply repeating all of the speculated-enough-in-the-media-to-become-fact rumors over the last 5 years.

For example, he mentioned how it bothered McCarthy that people like Moore, Quinn, Zimmer, etc. were positioned to easily take over for him. Well, duh! If your boss at work ever said, "John could be a great leader here" and you are John's boss, it would probably bother you as well.

He said Moore wanted more control over the offense. McCarthy, an offensive coach and the head coach, wanted more say in offensive schemes. Again .. DUH!

The whole "Amari was a bad influence in the locker room" speculation story was published publicly many times after his departure.

This whole segment just seems like a pin-the-blame-on-someone-other-than-Jerry-so-he-will-like-us-again reputation repairing campaign.
1000% >>"This whole segment just seems like a pin-the-blame-on-someone-other-than-Jerry-so-he-will-like-us-again reputation repairing campaign." YOU NAILED IT.

. But I think Jerry wanted Mike back, but knowing he had other options, Mike held out for what he wanted and Jerry said no.
Exactly....Oh he wanted MM back but for different reasons than MM wanted to come back. Wanted MM to babysit Witten for 3 years then move on.

Jerry caves in every negotiation when he actually wants someone. I think Jerry wanted to give MM a terrible offer so he would voluntarily go away.

Maybe true. So what. He sold it to get ratings. Doesn’t change the facts

Way too much "they are gone, so we can throw them under the bus" type stuff for me. I was taught growing up that people that do that are most likely the "bad people".

When I listened to it backwards it just kept repeating Mike is dead..Mike is dead…..

Maybe. But I dont think the niners front office is dumb enough to pay him 60 mill a year. They will get Darnold or Aaron Rodgers for a year.
