hey guys, I came across The fan on the way home and they were discussing some comments that were made by Steve Bisciotti who is the ravens owner - I did not hear what he had to say but from what I gathered he is looking to emulate what the rooneys have done with the steelers and one thing they infered from that was not overpaying for their own free agents. Essentially they were saying that they did not feel as if Ray Lewis would be back in Baltimore. I know there is a contingent here that wants Lewis, I have also heard the reports indicating we would be interested. According to what I heard it does appear likely that he will at least hit the open market.

so what does that mean

we over pay for him?

we DONT need him again we do NOT need him

9 draft picks find someone in the draft

I wacth MASN on a regular basis. Anita Marks has a show from 3-6pm. I'm going to e-mail her on and get the scoop on Lewis. From what I've heard Bart Scott is going to be the odd man out. Lewis means to much to that locker room and Suggs is a young pass rusher who can also play LB. Yes, were going to have to overpay to get lewis, no doubt about it. As much as i want Lewis im sure Baltimore will come to it's senses that losing Lewis in that lockeroom would be DEVESTATING. The ravens owner is no fool, trust me.

If fans believe Ray Lewis will establish in Dallas what he did in Baltimore, they're sadly mistaken.

Different players, different culture.

If Lewis hopes to bring instant credibility and fear here, Ray-Ray will have to choke a .

Hummm. So let me get this straight....

Now if that isn't hard hitting, investigative reporting..then I just don't what is!

don't shoot the messanger guys. I am not saying Dallas should overpay for Ray Lewis, I am not even suggesting they even sign the guy. What I am saying is that according to local sources he will be available and from early reports we might be interested.

It is clear your comprehenstion skills are lacking - message boards may not be for you. Maybe you should give ESPN a 2nd chance. Enjoy.

I think Lewis winds up in Baltimore. He won't leave Ed Reed.

They have a special thing there and they finally have a QB they believe in after years of searching for one.

Ray Lewis is the Baltimore Ravens.

He won't be much more than another big name FA in Dallas.

What I would like is for Demarcus Ware, Bradie James or Jay Ratliff to turn into 'our Ray Lewis' for this defense.

My "Comprehensive" skills are fine...maybe it's your forecasting thru a Crystal Ball...is the one that is lacking. Maybe you should help Ed Werner!!

Ray will be a Cowboy! BOOK IT NOW!

Gather round folks. It's a fight. Haven't seen this much action since scissorgate!

Ray knows this is his last contract. He wants to get paaaiiiiidddddd. The Ravens are hoping that Ray will give them a hometown discount, but I don't see it happening. I think if Ray finds the right opportunity and the right amount of cash, he will bolt.

Nice thought, but not going to happen.

Even if one of those guys you mentioned already thinks he is "the Ray Lewis of the Dallas Cowboys".

You sick fool :laugh1: :laugh2: :laugh1:

Is my memory failing? Didn't Baltimore play a 3-4 without a huge immovable nose tackle? And didn't Ray falter badly in that situation? That's the same situation we have in Dallas, so I don't see how Ray would help us much except maybe in the locker room. I'm just going on memory here so I could have my facts mixed up. Can someone clarify for me?

And you think with only nine picks we can still find another Ray Lewis?

You can't find many dominant ILBs in the 3-4 that can take on interior linemen by himself. There aren't too many players who can run and cover at a big enough size to take on interior lineman by themselves without giving up decent yardage.

is Ray Lewis at his age and his price going to be THAT much better than a young guy we draft? At 9-10mils a yr, lewis would be a monumental waste IMO...I'd rather resign Burnett than sign Lewis...plus there's the thug factor with him, he's a POS

That describes Lewis from a few yrs ago, not Lewis today. And certainly not Lewis next yr and two yrs from now etc etc.
